Bon looked around at what he considered his home; for the time being. Every base he was stationed at was his temporary home; it was like that for every single Spartan.
He looked at the woman who had just spoken; who looked back at him without concern. More annoyed than astonished. It was weird. Every time someone regarded them as regular human beings and not killing machines, it always took him aback.
"Well, hurry up now!" She said after he just stared blankly at her. He was glad his face was covered, because otherwise, he probably would've had a dumb look on it.
"This way," He glanced at Micheal; who started following the Spartans. Bon was trying to make a point by walking in front of Micheal: He didn't need to keep an eye on him in this place.
They walked single file, Bon in the front and Micheal in the back. When they got to the end of the hallway, the woman, who Bon actually didn't recognize, moved her hand in circles, obviously very stressed about something.
"To the med bay?" Micheal asked.
"To the med bay," Cali repeated. They sped walked the whole way, being forced to because the woman wouldn't slow down for them. They passed through hallways, most much the same as the first. Just regular offices with bland white walls and dull colored doors.
They finally got into a hallway that was colored red. The spec ops center; which just so happened to contain the medical center as well. They walked the long passage, finally getting to a door; fifth on the right, and went in. There was a one way glass looking into an operating room with doctors waiting. Micheal looked down at the floor and swallowed. He was visibly nervous; why, Bon wasn't sure.
"Alright, in you go," The lady ushered him in. Micheal went in the room through another door straight forward from the other one; the door this time being metal. He hated that fact, but he couldn't change it. It made him think what caused them to put the door there...along with the one way glass.
"I did research. He has a fiane in Alzeya, Reach. Bad news...Reach has been hit. First part to be hit? You guessed it. Alzeya." The woman abruptly stated. It took Bon a few seconds to register what he had just heard, but when he did, he just stood there in silence.
It was Cali that spoke up with,"Did she make it?"
"Negative. She got a message through, and with possibly all of the universes luck; it somehow ended up here. Her name...Lindsay." The woman said.
"Lindsay..."Bon repeated.
"Correct."
"I need to go." Bon said.
"Where?"
"To stop the Covenant."
"But you have-"
"I know what my orders are, ma'am, but with all due respect, they never excluded any orders for the Contingency Plan; now did they?"
"N-no! But..."
"I know, I can't leave him here. That's why I want you to take him to me; I'll stay comms close, you got it?"
"I'm not even a pilot!"
"You're ONI! Find one!" At that the woman stormed out of the room, slamming the door.
"We're screwed," Cali said.
"Yeah, well, so's humanity if we don't do something. Let's go," Bon said.
"Right behind you," Cali said; both leaving the room. They went in the direction in which they entered, hoping to avoid the ONI Bon pissed off. Hopefully she wouldn't leave Micheal for a long period, but Bon didn't have the time to worry about that. He had a job to do. And he didn't intend to leave this one unfinished...no matter the cost.
