I didn't mean for my life to change. It just did. It was a completely normal day. I never imagined that in the next couple weeks I would be traveling all over the land with three people I never met yet. Oh wait I'm supposed to introduce myself aren't I? Sorry! My name is Aurora. I was just a healer in a small village. Just a somewhat normal girl, living a somewhat normal life. Sorry! I started going off topic.  You aren't hear to hear about my life, you're here for the adventure.
So there I was, having a normal day. It gets better, I promise. I was reading. My eyes were practically glued to the page. It was a book of stories. Of adventurers and princesses and far away places. I set the book down and headed to the kitchen, planning to start making lunch. Then, in a tiny moment of confusion, a man was just standing there. Kind of just, looking around my house. I opened my mouth to talk but nothing came out. How was I supposed to react to a home intrusion?! The door was broken down and he didn't seem to pay any attention to me. Perhaps he didn't see me? I was too terrified to think. There was blood dripping off of his clothes. Now that was a bad sign.  Maybe it was the intensity of the moment or primal instincts or something, but I grabbed the nearest object, which happened to be a frying pan.  I closed my eyes as I swung the frying pan, hitting the man on the back of the head. There was quite a sound as the pan impacted with his head. He flopped to the ground, weird noises escaping his mouth before he went silent, drooling.
"Did I kill him?! OH MY GOSH I DIDN'T MEAN TOO!!!" I said to myself as I clasped a hand around my mouth. I felt tears coming to my eyes as I slowly pulled him over to the bed. He was fairly heavy so it took me longer than expected. When I laid him down I realized just how badly wounded he was.  He had a big gash on his left side, bleeding heavily. Many bruises were scattered around on his pale skin. Cuts and scratches were impossible not to see as you looked at them. I put my hand over their mouth and felt a breathe, a sigh of relief escaping my lips. He was alive. "I have to work fast or he will be dead!" I thought to myself as I quickly got some supplies. Bandages, poultice, needle and thread. Okay.
I looked at the bloody gash as I grabbed some water and poured it over the wound, watching as it washed out the blood. The crimson blood went down in watery streams as I dried it off gently and hurriedly. As I applied the poultice to the wound, I winced when I saw the inside. He should be dead. I winced seeing the needle go in and out of his skin in a rhythmic pattern until it was sealed, mostly. I felt my hands move for me as I started to bandage that wound and many other ones that were scattered over his skin.
Soon I finished. The figure lay asleep on my bed near the fire, drooling. I paused. I had a strong gut feeling... something big was going to happen and I was right.
