Luna's POV:

I stare at the woman with hard eyes as I examine her. She has long dark hair slightly lighter than mine that goes down to her waist, bronze skin, and almond-shaped caramel eyes.

"Who are you?" I ask, narrowing my eyes to look more menacing. I look over my shoulder for a moment to see Akari bowing down her head and I hear a slight whimper from her. I know she's not afraid, but she's focusing. She's focusing on entering their minds.

I examine the other two with the woman, two men. One has light blonde hair and bright blue eyes, and the other has light brown hair with baby blue eyes. Both are extraordinarily gorgeous.

"What?" The brunette one says in a joking tone, "You like what you see?" I roll my eyes even though I'm sure I can feel a blush running to my cheeks.

"Look," I try to explain with a quick lie, "We're just travelers, we don't want any trouble."

The blonde man steps up and states in a deep British accent, "Says the one waving a bow around." I snarl in response.

"Well you're the ones that snuck up on us in the middle of the night, while we were just peacefully resting." I snap.

The brunette opens his mouth to protest with us before the woman yells, "Enough of your bickering!" She faces me. "Who are you, girl?" Her fingers graze her side where a sword made of diamond rests.

She is Aphmau, lord of a small land called Phoenix Drop. I hear Akari's voice in my head. She has nice thoughts... Calm ones.

I don't know, Akari... I think cautiously, hoping that she's listening. She doesn't seem to be because she's looking up and her eyes aren't glowing.

"None of your sickly business." I bark to the woman. "Just turn around and leave us alone..." I jerk my head towards my ready bow. "Before anyone gets hurt."

"Hey!" The woman shouts as the two men with her raise their swords with her. "Enough of this!" She leans closer to us. "Your outnumbered here, girls. Give us your names." Her voice turns to a scream. "Now!"

I give the strangers a death glare. "You better back off." I say in the most menacing tone that I can pull off. I aim my bow towards the lady's heart in proof.

The brunette waves his sword, which is the color of emeralds, at me. "Kid," he hisses, "I think that you should learn to respect your elders."

Akari obviously gets mad at this response, and she starts to shout, "Oh come on! You're only three years older than us, tops!"

The brunette smiles in somewhat victory. "Twenty one year old kids, huh? You're barely to adulthood." He says in a taunting tone."Shouldn't you two still be with your parents?" The blonde man chuckles, but when the woman looks at him, he instantly stops and tries to look as mature as possible.

We're both legally adults, you asshole, just because we're younger than you doesn't mean we're kids.

"I think that we should all calm down and settle this like civilized people." He says as calmly as he can.

"Hear, hear!" Barks Akari. She looks at me as the blonde looks at his people, and all of the strangers put their swords to their sides. Akari already has her sword at her side, so she gives me a look.

Put it down, she whispers in my head, I don't think they truly plan to hurt us. Their leader doesn't, anyway, so unless they want to be arrested I don't think they do, either.

I nod to her and slowly drop my bow to my side. But I keep my arrow in place, ready. "Fine." I spit out.

"Good." The blonde says, stepping forward to face us directly. "Now, who are y---" He is cut off by a crimson arrow piercing into his shoulder. He yelps in pain, then he faints and falls to the ground with a CLUMP.

A flash of panic strikes me, and I point my bow at where it came from. The trees. Who or whatever is in there is completely camouflaged. I don't know where they are at all.

Arrows come flying towards us, but there seems to be only one source that they're coming from. Usually in an ambush, and I've had plenty of my share, there are multiple arrows coming from all different directions all at once. But here there is just one, staying in one place, shooting arrows as fast as light.

I roll out of the way as one is fired in my direction. Frantically, I look for Akari in the chaos of four people running around like idiots and one probably dead. I'm interrupted in my search as an arrow finds itself in the ground between two of my outstretched fingers on my left hand.

I look at where my attacker should be, lining it up to the top branch of a tall oak tree. They are wearing black and dark red, barely visible, and have a man's outline.

Time seems to stop as I follow where his bow is pointing and make a line with my imagination to the exact spot he's going to hit. I follow it, and I see the brunette underneath his gaze.

The brunette is on the floor, only an inch away from his friend's unconscious body, and he's weeping like a newborn baby. He doesn't seem to notice the danger around him, or maybe he doesn't care, but he definatly won't see his attacker when he's dead.

"Watch it!"
