There was a knock on my door. I groaned and opened my eyes. My vision was blurry. I grabbed my glasses off my nightstand and put them on. There, that was better. I threw the covers off me and swung my legs over the side of my bed.

I looked at my clock, it was 6:30. Dang. Who gets up at this ungodly hour? I went to my closet and threw the doors open. I searched through my clothes to find what I should wear. I grabbed my blue and black cami, skinny jeans and my favorite black ankle boots. After I was done getting dress I walked to my vanity where I quickly brushed my hair and putting it in a high ponytail. I also put some lip gloss on.

I grabbed my jean jacket as I left my room, shutting the door behind me. I put my jean jacket on while running down the stairs. My twin sister, Jasmine Foster looked up from her book when I ran in. I grabbed an apple and bit into it.

"Morning Jocelyn." Jasmine said.

"Morning." I said. I put my half eaten apple in the trash.

I heard my phone go off. I pulled it out of the front pocket of my jeans. It was a text message from my best friend, Hanna Parker.

Do u need a ride. I text back sure.

I put the phone back in my pocket. I looked at Jasmine who went back to reading.

"Hey Jas, do you want a ride from Hanna?" I asked.

"Nope." She said without looking up.

I sat down on a chair and waited for Hanna to come get me.

------

At 7:30 Hanna pulled in the driveway. I grabbed my book bag and pulled the strap over my head. Then I walked to Hanna's car. I opened the passenger door and climbed in. I slammed the door shut. Hanna pulled out of the driveway and into the street.

"Hey Joc." Hanna said.

"Hey." I replied. I looked out the window and I thought I saw something move but it was gone before I could see. I shivered, feeling as if someone was watching me. The car jerked forward.

"What the heck, Hanna?" I snapped.

"I hit something." She said.

I opened the door and jumped out with Hanna not that far behind me. I went to the front of the car. There was a big dent in the hood.

"Oh my . . . Gosh." Hanna stammered.

My eyes looked down and moved over the ground. I see something red on the ground. I crouched down and touched the red thing. It was wet.

"Blood." I whispered.

There was trail leading into the woods. I stood, wiping the finger that I touched the blood with on my jeans.

"Did you say blood?" Hanna asked.

I nodded. "There's a trail leading into the woods." I looked at the big dent in the hood. "Whatever it was, it was big."

------

We were still pretty freaked out about what happened. I was at my locker, waiting for Hanna to be done talking to her English teacher, Mr. Smith about her paper. I saw Hanna walking towards me with a big smile on her face.

"Why are you smiling?" I asked. When she was standing at her locker, right next to mine.

"Because I got an A+ on my paper." Hanna squealed.

I snorted. "Did you beg him again."

"No, this time I didn't." She said.

I rolled my eyes. I grabbed my book bag and started to walk where the cafeteria was. I opened the door. There was line of people waiting. So I had to go to the back of the line with Hanna.
