________________________________________________________________________________Lucy shook her head. Of course she must visit Sting! It doesn't matter if Sting got angry or hates her. She had to set things straight once and for all.
With that in mind, she continued to Sabertooth. The door was opened by a surprised looking Rogue, who showed her in. They walked in silence to Sting's room. "How is he?" Lucy asked, breaking the silence. "He's not in a very... good mood..." He fidgeted and his face fell a bit. What's up with him and Yukino being sad? "You better not go in there." He warned her when they stopped in front of the room. Lucy took a deep breath and nodded. She couldn't chicken out now. Rogue nodded hesitantly and left.
She knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Came the muffled reply from the inside. Lucy hesitated. Even Rogue warned her not to go inside. Is Sting really angry with her? Angry Sting was scary. If she said her name, would he even let her in? "Lucy." She said. There was no reply. Her face and heart dropped. Of course there would be none. What did she expect? Sting don't deserve her. Just as she was about to leave, Sting replied, "Come in."
Lucy heart leaped, and nervously, she came into the room.
Sting was sitting on his bed, his back facing her. He was leaning forward, propping his elbows on his knees. Lucy's throat suddenly felt so dry, as if every drop of moisture in her throat had migrated to her eyes. His back looked so angry, lonely, sad, depressed, all those negative emotions. She wanted to go over there and just pat him on the back, telling him that everything will be okay, even if it was only a lie. She wanted him to have her shoulder to cry on. She wanted to take the burden away. She wanted to be the one supporting him this time. Sting slowly turned around, and he stopped halfway, smiling sadly at her, the other half of his face became a silhouette from the intense sun set light.
Lucy tried to smile back.
She sat next to him.
"I'm sorry." She said softly, after a moment of silence. Sting nodded. "I heard from Yukino and Rogue that you're actually innocent. That Minerva was actually the one behind all this. I'm really sorry." Lucy leaned on his shoulder. Sting nodded again. Lucy wanted to ask what's wrong with him. But she just couldn't find the words.
She looked up and found his eyes glassy, staring away at the sunset from the window. "What's wrong?" Lucy asked softly, sitting up straight again. Sting closed his eyes and shook his head. "It's nothing." He muttered. Lucy took hold of his hand, "Tell me." She replied.
Sting looked at her with those sad eyes for a while before everything came gushing out, "Rogue. Yukino. You. Everything is so wrong. I felt like I shouldn't have met you or Fairy Tail. I had wished that I could turn back time to when Rogue and I were the Twin Dragons of Sabertooth, when everything was okay. But when you and Fairy Tail came into the picture, everything started to change. Rogue became friends with Gajeel. Yukino began liking Rogue. I became friends with Fairy Tail, and I fell for you. I thought... I thought that we're fine like this. Being friends. And Natsu told me that nakamas help each other out. But... when I was in trouble last time, Rogue and Yukino didn't even come. I felt like they have moved on and I felt so abandoned. You rejected me. Natsu-kun hates me. Rogue and Yukino were so into each other. I felt like the third wheel everywhere. Even Lector seemed to be spending more time with Frosche and Rogue. What am I supposed to do Lucy? What?" Sting broke down right in front of her. He leaned onto her shoulder and cried.
Lucy patted his back. She won't say 'it's going to be okay' because she know it won't. "I'm here for you." She said.
Sting's cries echoed in the big, empty room. He suddenly turned his face and kissed her, deep, on the lips.
At first Lucy was surprised, and having tears between their faces while kissing weren't exactly comfortable, but soon she melted into the kiss, and the tears didn't matter anymore, since her own tears were also mixing in. They shared a passionate kiss, and ending it 2 minutes later, panting for breath.
Sting hugged her, "I love you." He whispered, the tears still slowly streaming down his face. Lucy hugged him back, tightly, as she also cried, "I love you too..." She whispered back.
She was sure of it now. Her feelings for Natsu was just those for a friend, and she had mistaken it for love. She had to tell Natsu sooner or later, and hurting Natsu was something inevitable. But right now, all she wanted to do was savor the moment.
After a few more minutes of crying and kissing, Lucy left Sabertooth. She was surprised to see Natsu sitting down in front of her apartment. "Natsu?" She slowly called out to him. Natsu jumped, startled, and when he realized it was her, he ran and hugged her. "I'm so glad you're okay. I know you went to Sabertooth. What did he do? Did he hurt you? If he did, you should tell me. I'll beat him right away." He said.
Lucy let out a little laugh. "It's okay Natsu. Nothing happened." When she was released from the hug, Natsu grinned. "Let's go! I have a quest for us!" He exclaimed, dragging her towards the guild. She just laughed and let herself get dragged.
"Yo Lucy! Good to see you back!" Gray greeted her, and Natsu was suddenly not dragging her anymore, because he was off fighting Gray. Levy hugged her from behind. "Lu-chan! I've missed you so much! Are you okay?" She looked up at her with those big brown eyes of hers. Lucy smiled, "Yes I'm okay. Thanks, Levy-chan."
They picked a quest. Back at her apartment, when she was packing, she suddenly realized that if she lost Natsu, she would miss all the fun she had with him. All his childish pranks, his optimistic nature, his grin, his laugh, everything. Lucy slumped onto the floor. What should she do? She felt torn between the 2 men. She loved Sting, but she couldn't bear to lose Natsu.
The door banged open, "Lucy! Are you ready?" Natsu skipped into the room. Lucy quickly wiped the moisture in her eyes, "Yeah, let's go." She stood up and grabbed her bag.
Seeing his usual, optimistic grin, Lucy began to waver. 'Should I tell him or should I not? I don't want to lose Natsu, ever. But...'
"Lucy?"
