Chapter One: Not-So-Normal Prey
She trotted on all fours around the forest that the earth had provided her for 97 years in search for dinner.
Her eyes shone blue in the darkness, acting as an x-ray in the dark night to see clearer. Spotting a rabbit she chased the creature, not caring about the disease it carried like the rest of the animals before biting into it.
Eating it raw she licked her lips, leaving tuffs of fur and bones laying on the ground. The coyote only came out at night unless disturbed or curious of something. Other than that she was rarely seen.
The desert wolf was the only thing everyone and thing that survived the nuclear bomb fear.
The air was toxic to the mountain men, but when they went put on searchs they'd have to immediately return or they'd be torn to shreds by her. She hated the mountain men, they were terrible people. She could feel it in her bones.
The grounders however had to watch their back every second when on the forest floor. She could come out of nowhere and attack. They'd be lucky to even strike her once before their death
She trusted no one and lived on her own, in a cave smack dab in the middle of the forest. She was considered the demon of the forest, everywhere but never seen.
There wasn't one grounder, mountain men or animal that lived to say that they saw the desert wolf
The grounders called her the creature gon wamplei, the creature of death.
The mountain men called her the beast.
Animals knew of her as the master predetor.
She was the killer of the world. A any thing new to earth would never know that until they saw it for themselves. Right as they were about to be killed.

She slept soundly in her cave, tired from the sleepless nights she'd been having. Not many animal came out at night now a days and she hated the sunlight, so it was unfortunate.
What made her blue eyes come to life was a rumble in the earth, shaking it to a maximum that she had to stiffen to stop herself from moving around on the ground.
A loud bang was heard and her ears perked up instantly. She knew everything would be coming to the forest to see what was the mysterious noise on the earth.
The sun shone brightly, unfortunate for her but she knew she had to push that aside, just this once. Curiosity always got the best of her, there was no denying it.
She stretched, semi glad to have had at least twelve hours of sleep before creeping out of her dark and deep cave and into the broad daylight.
Her eyes squinted at the direct sunlight, wishing to be able to cover them with her hand that was at the moment, a paw.
Sprinting into a run she flew through the forest, smelling everything she passed. She began to trot once she made it close to a giant metal thing on the ground.
Above her, grounders hid in the tree, inspecting the strange thing that fell from the sky. Plus they didn't want to get injured from the desert wolf.
She knew they were in the tree. She also knew they were smart enough to know not to gang up on her. She'd taught them that a long time ago.
There was another nose making her get into an attacking stance. She bared her teeth and watched as one side of the metal box fall slowly and touch the ground gently.
Nothing happened for only a few seconds. She almost was convinced it was nothing she needed to worry about until something came out.
It was a human, just like she was. A female. A dark hair female wearing clothes she'd never seen before. There was shock across her face and a smile appearing.
The girl took a little jump and let her feet sink into the soil. The wind blew at that moment and confused the desert wolf even more.
The girl raised her hands as she shouted, "we're back bitches!"
It was then she had a great deal to worry about.
Humans began scattering out of the metal box, howling and shouting in excitement at finally being on Earth.
There were males and females. Her guess was about 100 people.
She wanted to tear them all to shreds, it was her nature to do since she considered them part of her food chain abouts a wolf, but something held her back.
They weren't like the grounders. They had no idea what was down here and what dangers were in store for them that they could have avoided if they'd just stayed where ever they came from.
She backed away from her stance, still eyeing then for a few more moments before backing away completely and running back to her cave.
She was a killer, she was the demon of the forest, the wolf of death, the beast, yet she knew these people were not a threat until proven.
She would wait until it was proven before she attacked.
