Chapter Ten: The Realization Of Self And Feeling

Bellamy went out with a team with guns, spears and any other weapon they had. Right now he didn't care that wolf had saved him, she was the only animal they knew that was normal.

What he didn't understand was Octavia persistent protection over this animal. It was a ruthless animal with no feelings. The only reason it took Bellamy with it to it's cave was because it didn't want to be killed.

Malia stood by, as she always did. She hated Bellamy with a passion, but there was no reason for her to attack every single teenager. So she'd grabbed the clothes she'd hidden and turned into her human form, glad that her hair wasn't too messy.

She stood, making a noise and instantly sending a bullet her way. She dodged it easily, putting her hands up and making herself known.

"I know we have a mutual hatred, but I didn't think it was that bad." Malia said, making Bellamy lower his gun.

"Haven't seen you in a while. I thought you'd be dead." Bellamy spat.

"I've been living on my own for a long time, you're the ones that should be dead now." Malia countered back. "But I'm not here to argue. Or punch you in the face again. As much as I'd like to."

Bellamy sighed. "Is this going anywhere? I've got a wolf to hunt." Malia rolled her eyes.

"Hunting that thing is a death wish. You'd be stupid to even be out here with that intention in your mind." Malia said.

"I don't care. We need food and that thing needs to be put down." Malia began to get frustrated. She needed to calm down before she got to angered.

"Look. I've tried killing it. It cannot be killed! You will die the second you put your gun to it." Malia exclaimed.

"If you tried and failed how are you alive then?" Murphy asked. Malia glared before pulling her shirt up, revealing the four long claw marked scars along her side.

"I managed to knock it out with a log and run away. Thanks to my fantastic stitching skills I lived. Barely." She said, pulling her shirt down again.

"Seriously consider my warning. Otherwise, I'll see you in hell." Malia bid them goodbye and began walking toward their camp.

Octavia paced back and forth, really trying to understand why she was so protective of this wolf.

Octavia heard voices outside, especially Murphy as he yelled profoundly at someone.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He exclaimed, cocking his gun towards Malia. Octavia saw her from the window and began smiling absent-mindedly.

"I need to see Octavia." She said, not flinching from the gun that was pointed her way.

"She's not here. She's with Bellamy." Murphy lied.

"I just ran into Bellamy. She's not with them. Stop lying and tell me where she is." Malia said.

Octavia wanted to help, but there was no way she's see her all the way up here. But Octavia banged on the window. Malia heard and turned her head to look up. She waved to Octavia.

"I'm going to go see her." Malia announced and walked past Murphy. He tried to grab her but she turned is arm and held it behind his back.

"How's that wound, Murphy? Still healing?" She whispered into his ear while lightly pressing on the stab wound she made with his knife days ago.

He cried in pain and she pushed him away from her. She turned and went into the dropship. Murphy was an annoying person that was for sure.

Malia climbed the ladder and opened the hatched. Octavia helped lift and and Malia got inside. Octavia couldn't help herself from hugging the girl.

Malia was quicker to reciprocate this time, glad she wasn't naked this time. Malia pulled away seconds after, not liking the pounding her heart was doing.

"What are you doing here?" Octavia asked.

"I came to see you." Malia shrugged. Octavia felt her face heat up.

"After days?" Malia nodded.

"Your brother is stupid." Malia deadpanned, causing Octavia to laugh lightly.

"He means well, he's just stubborn." Octavia sat against the wall. Malia took a seat in front of her and looked at her face.

Octavia had a really pretty face, she observed. Her hair was really nice for being really dirty, and her laugh was nice. Malia could only point out good things about her.

"What's your name? You never told me." Octavia asked, curious to know who this girl was.

"Malia." She answered finally. The realization in Octavia's face couldn't be missed.

"The wolf. You--no way. Are you?" Octavia was on her knees, a sudden excitement in her voice. Malia smiled.

"I am. And I am not lying. Would you like to see." Octavia nodded.

Malia removed her clothes, causing Octavia to look away as she got on her hands and knees. Malia's eyes glowed, soon her bones cracking and moving. Warmth surrounded her and soon she stood on four legs, looking at Octavia who looked like she was about to burst.

"Oh my god!" She exclaimed. She slid forward, putting her hand on the side of Malia's face.

No wonder she felt such a connection when she first saw Malia, the eyes were a sure give away but the name is what put it all together. She couldn't believe this.

"This is amazing." Octavia whispered. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, realizing exactly why she felt so protective of Malia.

Malia changed back quickly. Octavia's hand was still on her cheek and they stared at each other. Malia's eyes glowed, both their hearts wanting to admit something dangerous.

Malia looked away, grabbing her clothes and putting them back on. Octavia sat back on her knees, thoughts flowing through her mind quickly.

"You're brother is trying to kill me. I was human when I saw him. I didn't hurt him. But I will if he doesn't back off." Malia sighed, not wanted to do as she says.

Octavia stands and rubs her arm. "I'll try to talk to him, but there's no guarantee he'll listen." Malia takes it upon herself to put an arm around Octavia's waist as a hug.

"I don't know when I'll see you again, but go to the pond at the edge of the forest in a few days." Malia whispered. She let Octavia go and climbed down the ladder.

Octavia's mind flashed with thoughts, ones that she thought she'd never think of. Why was she feeling this way. Malia had trusted her so much to share her secret.

"Are you coming?" Malia called. Octavia snapped back into reality and looked to the door where Malia was looking at her.

Octavia climbed down the stairs and followed Malia outside, right as Bellamy walked into the camp. Malia sighed.

"I'll see you in a few days." Malia said, waving to Finn, seeing as he was up and looking better.

Bellamy glared at her. Malia only sent a wink as she walked out of camp. She didn't regret showing who she was to Octavia one bit. She trust her, as hard as it was to admit.

She never trusted anyone. But this once, she would trust the girl who chased butterflies.

Another update! I'm on fire! This is not going to be as regular thing. But it's the holidays and I have nothing better to do. I was thinking about writing another the 100 ff after this one. Any ideas on who it should be for and what about? Tell me how you liked the chapter as well :)

Much love, Ansley
