The leaves on the trees rustled as the wind blew through them. The crunching of dead leaves and dogs barking added noise. Kids' laughter and swings making a creaking noise as children swung back and forth. I remember this day exactly. The day we arrived at the park. My mom, my dad, my sister, and myself of course.
"Mommy!" Angelica yelled. My mother turned around to face my sister. My sister, Angelica, looks almost exactly like my mother. The straight blond hair and pale skin. She took interest in bright colors and being ultimately girly. But mom and Angie have different colored eyes. My sister's are dark, and grey. Although they are full of life, they were misty and looked like they have a slight tint of red. But for Mom, wow... She has the brightest and most cheerful eyes I have ever seen. They are bright blue. You know those huskies? The ones with that pastel blue eyes? Yeah, they loo like that. They are beautiful.
As for Dad and I, we share our similarities as well. The dark, brunette hair, interest in games. But Dad shared Angie's eyes, they were cold and mean. Misty... And unemotional. Games, and his family are the only think I've ever seen my dad happy about. Happiness is the only thing I've seen him express, and he shows it very little. Otherwise, he's just... Plain.
But my eyes, ha, nope! They're bright blue like my mother's. Except mind aren't all shiny like a crystal. Mind are just pastel blue; like ice.
Oh, right! How could I forget? Angels are born with the power of ice. It's like, the pure water is trapped inside the ice. The only way to get it out is by breaking it open. You cannot steal pureness from an angel just like that. Pureness is sealed away inside. To get to the core, you must break your way inside.
As for the demons, they wield the magic of fire. The flaming hot thing that can burn people alive. It is crazy, and does whatever it wants. Demons
are crazy and do whatever they please when they please. Now, rarely- and I mean rarely- do humans gain magic. But when they do, they gain wind or water. Water is strong, but sneaky. It literally slips right through your fingers! Although, water always finds a way, the majority stays in one place, requiring patience; most people don't have.
Lastly, wind. Wind must cooperate with the person's personality like all the other magics. Calm, and... Light. Not as in weight or in the sun. Light as in basically cool. You can place them anywhere and they do not care one bit. The wind will be able to move them.
Mom stared at Angie, "Yes, sweetheart?" she asked, with a soft voice. "Can Lucy and I go play on the playground?" Angie questioned. Mom nodded with a smile. Dad looked at both of us. "Be careful!" He yelled, as he watched us disappear behind the playground equipment.
We stopped in front of the swings. Angie put her arms up in the air and stretched. "Ooh, it is hot to-day!" I sighed. "Yeah, well I hate it." A little cloud formed above my head, dropping snow onto my body. "Ahh, refreshing..." I heard Angie sigh. "Lighten up Lucy, it's only a little sun!" I shook my head. "Easy for you to say! You practically live in the sun with your fire magic." Angie nodded. "You've got a point there..."
I got up on one of the rock turtles that were made for kids to sit on. My little snow cloud disappeared as I stood up on the rock. "And! I am now a queen!" I pulled my golden tiara out of my pocket. Angie stared at me. "Why are you a queen all of a sudden?" She questioned. "Because I said so!" I argued, "now bow down to me, peasant!" She reluctantly dropped now to her knees and bowed.
I stomped on the turtle, turning it into ice. "And now say that you will forever respect and honor your queen, whom you will protect and serve your whole--" A plastic, suction cup arrow flew right passed my head. "We have come to take your queen. Come with us, or you're dead where you stand." A voice said coming from a dark purple hoodie. Two people stood behind them and wore the same hoodie, except they were holding up bubble guns, and were pointing them at me.
I smirked, and went along with it. "And what makes you think I'm gonna listen to you?" They raised their guns, but their leader - who was obviously their leader because they were wearing a crown - raised their hand to stop them. "Because we command you to! Surrender now, or we will shoot!" I shook my head, and jumped off the rock.
The leader pointed at me and the other two looked at each other then nodded. They began shooting bubbles at me. Some completely went the opposite direction, but those that did hit me, popped immediately. I groaned in pain or said ow a few times to play along.
Then suddenly, the bubbles stopped appearing. I looked to where they were standing and saw them holding a bubble gun to Angie's head. "No! Don't!" I stepped forward, but the hooded leader put their palm up. "Take one more step and we'll blow her to smithereens!" I stood, and sighed. "What do you want?" I asked. The leader pointed to the ground. I dropped to my knees and looked at the ground.
Feet soon approached my line of sight. I grabbed them, causing the person to fall. I quickly got up and placed my foot gently on the person's stomach. "Release my sister now, or else your leader gets it." The two backed away from Angie. I quickly ran over to her, moving away from their leader. I hugged Angie. "You're safe! Big sis got ya now!" I laughed. Angie remained a shocked face, then her lips came to a smile as she followed by a laugh.
"We enjoyed your game..." The leader said. I turned, and nodded while adding a smile showing off my kind-of-sharp demon teeth. The leader removed their hood, revealing a girl with light brunette hair and dark blue eyes. She had bangs that went straight across her face, almost covering her eyes. "I'm Candy." She added.
Candy turned around and pointed to the person in the hoodie on her right. They pulled their hood off, only to reveal a girl, she had short, and wavy blond hair. Most of her face was covered by her big brown eyes. She smiled at me as I stared at her. "That's Stella." Stella waved. "Hi!"
Candy then turned to her left, and pointed. The person pulled off their hoodie. It revealed a boy. His cheeks were so pink. He looked like a little pig! He had dirty blond hair that looked like it was brushed every time a piece of hair escaped from the gel. He had sky blue eyes that I swear if you made his eyes only visible you wouldn't see him. "That's John." Candy finally said after a while. "H-Hi" John stuttered.
Angie smiled. "New people, new friends!" She started, "I'm Ang--" I nudged Angie, then whispered into her ear. "Ah, right. I'm Cloe!" She restated. I nodded, forming a smile with my lips. "I'm Fairy." I finally said, introducing myself. "Nice!" Candy smiled.
"Cloe! Fairy!" A familiar voice yelled. "We'll be right back." I said, before running off into the direction of the voice. "It's time to go." Mom said. "But we made friends! We can't just leave them!" Angie said. "You made friends?! Did you use your human name? Did you hide your magic? Did you reveal us at all?!" Dad said worriedly. I've never seen him so freaked out in my life. "We got it under control." I said, trying to calm Dad down. "You better, Lucy! Or else we'll have to flee the human world and separate to our own worlds, taking one of you each!"
As you probably already guessed, my parents are the two most powerful species: Angels and Demons. My father is a demon; he roams the Underworld and does whatever he pleases. Although demons can do whatever they want, they have to get a job to pay for their houses. Demons are civilized and not just savages. But angels live in the Upperworld. They can do whatever they please as long as they follow strict rules. I won't go ever them though. There is a lot to go through.
I nodded. "I know daddy, but can we at least say goodbye?" Dad sighed then nodded. "Come right back here when you're done!" He shouted as we ran to meet up with them. We took a few minutes to say our goodbyes, and then we left.
After days we arrived at the park, only to play our game. Days turns into weeks. Weeks into months. Then one year. The day no one showed up at the park. . .
