His Baby Girl

Prolouge

"Congratulation sir, it's a baby girl" the doctor shook Kang Hyoseok hands as he smiles. "Can I visit my wife now?" the doctor nod and left. He opens the door of his wife's room, Maria Morres.

He's Korean while she's American, so their daughter will be mixed. "Honey, we got a baby girl" he smiles at her as she shows me a tired smile. "Have you think of her name yet?" he asks when a nurse comes inside.

"Here's your baby" the nurse smile while handing the fragile baby to its mother. Maria cries when their skin meet. "Oh, my baby girl" she kisses the sleeping baby. "Kai, I like Kai" she looks at him as he smiles and nods.

"Kai. Kim Kai Morres" he looks at her as they chuckle, the euphoria can't be explained with words. "That'll be her name, right Kai?" the baby smile when she heard 'Kai'. "She loves her name" we look at each other.

"You're the one who started it!" she shouts to him. "I don't care. She must leave or I will divorce you! She's been nothing but a burden in my life!" he looks at the little girl as she peeks from behind the wall.

"Why don't you just die?!" he grips her hair and pushes her head harshly as she cries harder. "Fine! I'll send her away if you want!" she goes to her room and packed all of her belongings.

"Kai, let's go" she takes her hands into the car. "Mom" Maria hugs her mom as they stand at the porch. "Kai, listen to me" Maria kneel so she's the same level as Kai. "Mommy still loves you, okay?"

"Dada and I just misunderstand each other. Behave and stay with nana, okay?" she kisses her forehead and hugs her for the last time. "Mommy! Where are you going?!" she cries while trying to break free from her nana's hold.

"No Kai, don't" her nana hug her to stop her. She can feel liquid running down her eyes, wetting her wrinkled cheeks. "Mommy!" she cries harder in her nana's arms.

"Honey, I make you some-" the Tupperware fall from Maria's hold when she saw her husband, Kim Hyoseok is making out with another girl. "What are you doing?!" she cries as he walks to her.

"This is not what you're thinking!" he said, trying to control her rage. "Dear, who is that?" the woman behind him suddenly ask. "You're such a monster!" she screams, punching his chest and slapping his cheek.

Maria then leaves with her car, driving to her mother's house with a stained cheek. "That man! After I gave away all of my everything for him, he dares to treat me like this?! Who did he think he-"

"Last night, there was an accident near the Han river involving a car and a lorry. After the police investigation, turned out a woman in her 20's was crashed with a big lorry as the driver was drunk"

"Oh god" Kai look up from the doll as she heard her nana's gasps. "Why nana?" she walks up to the crying nana. "Kai, come here" her nana called her, pulling her to sit on her lap.

"Mommy is gone" she caresses Kai's hair softly. "Do you forgive her?" Kai looks up to her nana's eyes, they're in pain and it hurts Kai so much. Although she doesn't understand why.

"Yes, nana. Of course, I do" Kai show her a sad smile and hug her.
