Chapter 6

-Jane pov-

Something was wrong, I smelt blood, and lots of it. The only person with flowing blood was mama.

My eyes widened and I left the throne room running to Mama's room with Alec, Sulpicia and Are right at my heels.

I tried her door but it was locked. I began to tugging on it frantically, "Mama? MAMA!" I yelled banging on it before Alec scooted me over and kicked it open.

Not seeing her anywhere but hearing the shower going I ran to the bathroom. I dropped to my knees at the sight. Scarlett, my friend, my mama laid there washing away to death in her own blood.

"mama..." I said and held her close. She had a pulse but it was barely there. She wouldn't make it. Even of Aro were to change her now she wasn't strong enough. The others came in and I heard Sulpicia dry sobbing.

*"Signore salva la sua anima." Alec said and made a cross. The door banged open and I heard Caius yell at Aro.

"What was so important for you to interrupt Athena and I?" He asked with hard eyes. When he saw mama though he dropped to his knees.

*"Scarlett, la mia bellezza, il mia anima, il mio compagno. Mi dospiace." He said taking her from me. Then bent down his head and bit her, neck wrist everywhere he could.

"Mama." I said again, hoping, pleading that Caius wasn't too late. That she would wake up. Marcus soon walked in with a sad look on his face.

"Caius stop she's dead, the bond is gone." He turned and growled and went back to butting her.

"Caius-"

"NO!" He roared and Athena came in.

"Oh boo hoo the poor human is dead." She said and laid her hands on Caius shoulders. He knocked them off and growled at her.

"She's dead, dead because of you." He said in a crouch and slowly slinking towards her.

"I believe dear husband, that she is dead because you are a heartless vampire." Caius ran out of the room and let out a pain filled screech. Just then Mama started to move in my arms and made the most god awful noise.

"Mama?" I asked and smoothed her hair back. That's when I sensed Caius' venom. By some kind of miracale it had worked. "Someone get him back here." I yelled and Alec ran out only to return with him a moment later.

Aro clapped a hand on Caius shoulder and stared at him dead in the eyes. "Hurt my daughter again and I will personally disembody you." Alec, Sulpicia, and I growled at him in acknowledgment. "Sulpicia and I almost lost a daughter today, Jane and Alec a mother, and you a mate. Don't mess this up more Caius." He said and walked off.

Caius reached out towards her but I growled and nipped at him. "Jane." Sulpicia scolded and I hung my head in shame.

Caius laid her on the bed and Alec and I automatically curled up into her sides while he sat at the foot of the bed waiting for her to wake up.
