Chapter 5

It was dark outside when I woke up. Both Jane and Alec were still here. They smiled and pounced on me when they saw me awake. "Sulpicia wants to go into town with you." Jane said handing me a new dress.

"She's allowing us leave the palace?" I asked as I changed. Alec had walked out to give me privacy. I swear I love these two more and more with each passing moment.

"Alec and I must accompany you but yes she is allowing it." She said redoing my hair. She pointed to a mirror on the wall. I gasped at what I saw. It was absolutely beautiful, almost as much as Sulpicia. Just then my door was opened and she walked in.

"Oh my, darling you look beautiful." She said twisting a piece of my hair and around her finger.

"Thank you, you to as well." Alec popped his head in and saw that everyone was decent, he walked in all the way.

"Master Aro wishes to see us before we leave." I nodded and grabbed my shoes before being escorted to the throne room.

Aro and Marcus sat in there throne, Caius surprisingly not. Aro stood when he saw that we had entered the room. "Well don't you two look wonderful." He said kissing our cheeks.

"Thank you love." Sulpicia said and I smiled up at him. Marcus winked and nodded and I smiled at him.

"Jane,Alec watch them. Have them come back at no later than 3 hours."

"Yes Master." They said together, Jane stood by my right and Alec stood by Sulpicia.

"Have fun my dears." Aro called as we leave.

"Goodbye." We all said. Sulpicia lead us to the heart of Volterra where it seemed there was a festival of some sort going on.

We had been sitting a few minutes when a boy about my age walked up to me and held out his hand, asking for a dance.

"Go on Scarlett." Sulpicia answered, Alec walked over and asked Jane to dance, both of them not to far watching me closely.

"What's your name love?" The boy asked me.

"Scarlett, and you?"

"Xander." He said with a soft smile. "Come with me, I have something to show you." I saw Alec and Jane freeze and glare at him.

"I really shouldn't, we have to leave soon." I said trying to tug my arm away.

"Come on love, don't be a tease." He said, his fingers caressing my neck.

"Get off!" I yelled but he didn't listen. His lips had barely connected to my neck when Alec had pulled him off and Sulpicia was now holding me.

"Come now Scarlett." Xander said and got a tight grip on my arm. "Don't make a scene." Jane growled and I nudged her to be quite.

"I suggest you let her go of her." Jane ground out.

"Or what little girl?" The next thing I know Xander was on the ground in pain and I was in Alec's arms with him Running to the castle

"Oh my dear, I shouldn't have encouraged you." Sulpicia said and I sniffed wiping my tears away.

We walked in the throne room and Caius gave me a little evil grin to me. "Aww sad that I didn't return the affections?" Sulpicia growled and lunged for him, only to be held back by Aro.

"My daughter had almost been raped and that's what you have to say!?" She growled and Caius stood, Athenodora forgotten for the moment.

He walked over and sniffed me, growling whenever he picked up Xander's scent.

"You let him touch her!? She is MINE!" He growled and pulled me to him.

"Right, you hate me remember!" I yelled and he pushed me to the ground.

"I do, come Athena." He said and stalked out of the room with her following.

"Scarlett, my pet what happened?" I held out my hand and Are growled as I replay what happened. I became mindful of the bruises on my wrist and looked at them. I had black and purple finger prints adoring my skin now.

"Jane, Alec take her to her room. I'll have Xander tracked down."

"Yes Master." They replied, on each side of me. Once in my room I layer down crying.

"Caius is right, I am revolting, Xander made me revolting." Jane curled up next to me and Alec pulled my head into his lap.

"No mama, you aren't the one who is disgusting. If anyone is its Caius."

"Thank you Jane and Alec, but I need to be alone for a while." Once they left I let out a heart wrenching cry. I sat down and rocked back and forth hugging myself, hoping that prevent me from breaking. As if on auto pilot I stripped and walked to the shower. Shaving I nicked my ankle, I was awestruck watching the crimson liquid go down my leg. I held it to my arm and closed my eyes.
