-Scarlets pov-

What happened to Caius for him to change his mind about me? Four days ago he was shoving his tongue down Athenodora's throat. Now he could barely leave my side for 5 seconds and was constantly purring. I'm laying on the bed curled up next to Caius with Jane and Alec not to far away.

"Well isn't this just lovely picture. I do hate to break it up, but we have an issue." I looked up to see Aro standing in the doorway. Caius snarled and dropped down to a crouch ready to pounce. I put a calming hand on his shoulder and he relaxed almost immediately. Which is a good considering Volterra didn't need their two leaders going at each other's throats, literally.

"And what would that be?" I asked calmly.

"Seems young Edward Cullen has taken a liking to a human girl." Caius snarled and Jane and Alec both growled pushing passed me to get to the throne room.

"I don't see any harm. I was human when I came here?"

"You my love are special though." Caius said taking my hand and softly kissing it.

"Regardless, I want to meet her. What's her name?" I asked looking to my father figure.

"Bella, she's most peculiar. Gifted as a human, just like you."

"Aro, we don't give second chances." Caius said pulling his cloak on.

"Be still Caius, and don't be such an asshole." I said walking away from him and ahead of Jane and Alec. As I stood in front of the three Thrones. I look at Bella, she looked terrified as I was when I first came here a week ago.

"You must be Bella." I said giving her a small smile. Her mate didn't seem pleased to have me addressing her.

"Edward stop, she's being nice." I like her very much.

"She should one of them, she can't be trusted Bella." Edward said taking her into his arms.

"What seems to be the problem?" I asked Bella.

"I-" I cut Edward off with a raised hand.

"I was asking Bella." I snarled, this boy was starting to get on my nerves. Even I could tell she was not truly his mate as he seemed so keen on having her believe.

"I came to save Edward, but then we were brought here."

"Because you know about vampires." I said and she nodded.

"If you don't mind me saying, you're extremely beautiful Mistress.."

"Just Scarlett is fine, Bella what would you say if I were to tell you I was human 7 days ago?" Her eyes widened and Edward shoved her behind him and growled at me with a warning.

"I assure you I have no intention to hurt Bella. You maybe but not her." I said as I walked closer to them. Aware that Marcus, Sulpicia, Aro, Jane, Alec and Caius were watching my every move.

"Why are you here then? This is such a depressing place to live. Are you gifted?" I laughed and smiled.

"I am, but that's not the reason I'm here. Caius is my mate." Her eyes widened and I could tell she feared me because of him. I noticed Demetri was watching her carefully and she doing the same. He started walking towards her and Edward snarled.

"She's MINE!" Hey growled and Bella struggled to be free from him.

"Let me go Edward." She said still struggling and Demetri growled but Edward failed to listen. I focused on his sleeve, setting a small blaze.

She smiled and ran over to Demetri who took her into his arms.

"Bella, do you wish to leave with Edward?" I asked and she looked at him shaking her head no.

I smirked back at him and smiled at Demetri's new mate.

"Looks like he has no more business here anymore." I said and headed for the doors followed by everyone else.

Caius wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed my temple.

"Well done mio caro." I smiled and walked back to my room. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.
