harry sighed and ran a hand through his hair. on the tv was a news report that a blizzard was coming in and he was supposed to be at gemma's house 30 minutes ago to visit his new niece.

he walked over to the window and peeked outside. snow was falling heavily onto the ground and the driveway was completely covered in snow.

there was absolutely no way anyone was driving tonight.

harry watched as the snow began falling more vigorously, like it was running away from someone. frost crept up the windows and harry raised his fingertips to feel it. practically ice.

he sighed and turned around walked into his spacey kitchen. his house wasn't a big one; he was the only person living inside of it. harry often wondered how it would feel to have another soul inside of his house running around with him and making him smile. maybe he should adopt a dog.

a soft hiss disturbed his small thoughts and he glanced at the small metal kettle on the stove. he carefully shut the fire off and poured himself a cuppa tea, perfect for a snowy day.

he return to the living room and sat in his big, red, and pricey loveseat. it was a gift from his mum before he left because apparently "something from everyone in the family would make his home a little more homey-er." harry only laughed, but once gemma placed her fancy glass trophy case in the middle of the room, harry quickly ran to the store to buy something in return.

harry stared at the glass trophy set and swore he heard a meow. he chuckled. "oh, little gems bought a nice cat to go with it."

the house was silent apart from the wind howling past the window and the occasional hum from the heater above. harry huffed out a small laugh before fully relaxing in his seat and staring outside of the window again. the sheets of white were comforting and relaxing until something darted across the window.

he silently prayed it really wasn't he was thinking. no one should be outside during a bloody blizzard and loose paper really shouldn't be moving that fast. but then the meow was back. this time, it was long and drawn out and the noise was coming from the front door, he was sure of it.

harry place down his mug and tiptoed to the sound. "meow."

he contemplated opening the door. did he really want to invite a cat inside of his house? he hated cats but it was obvious something alive and hurting was sitting right outside of his home and he could do something about it. not to mention it was also was a little below freezing and harry was ninety-nine percent the wind wasn't blowing this hard ten minutes ago. after contemplating for several seconds more, he threw all his feelings aside and yanked the door open.

the myserious cat was sitting on his welcome mat, body curled against the door and shivering badly. it had ears and a tail, a light brown in comparison to his shaggy dark locks cascading in front of his eyes. the cat hybrid lifted his head and revealed the prettiest and calmest blue eyes there were, ruby red lips quivering and a light pink tint across his cheeks.

harry gawked at the being, so tiny and perfect and pale and cold. "huh?"

the cat-boy only choked in response, visibly shivering. "d-do you need a place to stay?"

it nodded and curled up against harry's foot and only then he understood how freezing cold it was. "okay, stay here. i'll be back."

harry partially closed the door and darted to the living room, pulling out a duvet he stashed for a movie night he planned for himself. he also grabbed his spare robe and a pair of old slippers because why not?
