Now I'm no spring chicken when it came to talking to newbies.
'Maybe it's because you look so approachable.' was Megan's only conclusion on why I seem to attract them like ants towards a grain of rice.
'You need anything?' I still find it uncomfortable to talk to girls wearing floral skirts. Her clothes seem to scream I do my homework and I have curfew at me.
Biting her lower lip, she started playing with the ends of her hair. I was getting impatient as she fought against herself on how to answer a simple question.
'I'm gonna be late. So... I have to go to my next class.' Grabbing my bag, I could sense her panicking.
I was already by the door when I felt her hand grab my arm.
'Can we be friends?' she blured out.
Carefully prying her fingers from my arm, I looked at her.
'You'll have friends. Within a week or so. Give it time.'
Her eyes looked down at my Gorillaz t-shirt before smiling at me.
You know what's so annoying when it comes to some girls?
It's that they automatically use the pity card once you say no. And the worse part is, the majority of the guys are going to buy that act and say yes.
And I refuse to be part of that majority.
'We...can walk together if you want." It was more of a question. And I was hoping she'd say no.
She quickly ran to her seat to get her bag and jumped - jumped to a halt in front of me.
Giving her a small smile, I opened the door to let her pass.
Megan was just outside when she spotted me with the new girl.
She took one look at her, then at me, and grinned.
