Here I am waiting,
I'll have to leave soon.
Why am I holding on?
We knew this day would come, we knew it all along,
How did it come so fast?

HARRY POV
"I look like a fucking idiot," I moaned, staring at my three reflections.
"No! You look so good, Haz!" Louis crowed. We were in the middle of a formal dress place after school that Friday, and Louis had forced me in this stuffy black tuxedo. I glared at myself.
"Can we hurry this up?" I snapped. "I have to work."
Louis walked around me, beaming. "You clean up so well. I haven't seen you in a tuxedo, since...well..."
"Ever," I deadpanned.
"True. But Harry, you look amazing. All you need to do is...your hair."
I glanced over at my curly beast of hair, flopping over my forehead. "What's wrong with wearing it like this?"
Louis snorted. "Excuse me, I don't think so. You are not going to prom with your hair looking like poodle pubes."
I whirled around, trying to fight my smile. "I really cannot stand you."
"You've put up with me for years, Styles. Must not be that bad. Anyways, what color is Ali wearing?"
"Does it matter?"
Louis sighed, irritated. "You know how prom works, idiot. You have to match your date."
"She mentioned something about wanting to find blue - "
"Perfect."
"Oh, my god. Prom rules or not, Tomlinson, I am not showing up in a blue fucking tuxedo -"
"Calm down, sunshine. We're just going to get you a nice tie..."
I cringed. "Ties."
"You are so, so dramatic. Is Ali acting more...normal now?" It sounded like he changed his question in the middle of talking.
I shrugged one shoulder. "She seems to be doing okay."
"Doesn't it bother you, though?" Louis whispered. I had a feeling I knew what he was talking about.
"A little," I muttered. "But I guess it really was no big deal. She'll never tell me anything anyways."
Louis brushed his bangs up, and was quiet for a minute. "Let's get you out of that tux now, yeah? You gotta buy this."
"Whatever."

ALI POV
Saturday afternoon, I stared beaming at my pick for a prom dress. Regina and Bree were perched on my bed, gazing at it too. We had just gotten back from shopping.
"I chose a good one, didn't I?" Bree smirked. "That color is to die for on you."
I blushed, tucking my hair behind my ear. The gown really was stunning - the most show-stopping shade of sapphire, with a silky one shoulder and sweetheart neckline. The dress had perfectly shaped my body, making me seem taller than I actually was. "Thanks..."
"Harry's going to look gorgeous." Bree fanned herself. "That boy, I swear."
I glared at her, and she and Regina both started laughing. "I mean, let's be honest here," Reg added. "Harry is delicious. And Louis..." She trailed off, shaking her head. "No words."
