"Hey, she's waking up!" Naruto screamed as Kitsune opened her eyes, closing them immediately at the sight of the blonde up in her face.
"Agh, what are you doing?" She pushed his face away and tried to sit up, only to realize that her leg was in traction. "What happened?" The last thing she remembered was Tsume asking her to get groceries... why was she so hurt then?
"We don't know," Kiba answered, putting Akamaru on the hospital bed. "The hospital sent a messenger to my house to tell us you were here, but they didn't give us details." Kiba poked Akamaru's back, forcing him to lie down instead of jump on Kitsune like he wanted to.
Kitsune watched as Kiba and Naruto talked about what could have happened, but ended up talking about going to get ramen sometime soon. She rubbed her face wearily, feeling a small bump on her nose that wasn't there before.
"What..." Kiba looked over as Kitsune poked and squeezed the bump on her nose.
"Hey, don't do that," Kiba smacked her hand away from her nose. "You broke it and it healed wrong. It's permanent," her hand dropped to her side, tears welling up in her eyes. "Hey, no, no, don't cry!" He shouted, waving his hands in front of him.
"Is... is my leg broken too?" She asked while hovering her hand above her leg.
"No, they said your knee was busted all up, but the leg itself is fine." She pulled up her hospital dress, tracing the purplish bruise line all the way up her thigh.
"Man, that looks nasty," Kiba commented, looking intently at the line of bruises. Kitsune sighed, falling back against the hospital bed and looking at her arm. It was wrapped in cotton, but as far as she could tell it wasn't broken at the moment. "They said your arm was broken when you came in, but it was easily fixed with medical ninjutsu."
"I appreciate you guys coming in, but I think Naruto's going to explode if he doesn't get his ramen sometime soon," Kitsune laughed, pointing at Naruto drooling profusely.
"Ramennnnnn," Naruto moaned, walking out of the room with his hands extended in front of him.
"We'll bring you back something," Kiba put his hand on her hand. "I'm... glad you're okay," he mumbled, giving a little squeeze before leaving the room, shutting the door behind him.
"What an idiot..." Kitsune chuckled, the warmth of Kiba's hand still on her hand. Do I...? She shook her head, no! Ugh, she sighed, sinking down in her bed and listening to people walking by, suddenly very aware of the fact that she was lying on her tail.
She adjusted as good as she could with her leg hoisted up in the air, pulling her tail to the side and letting out a sigh of relief, letting her tail lean off the side of the bed. A knock on the door got her attention and she watched as a blonde man walked in the room.
"Hello," he stayed a safe distance away from the bed. "My name is Inoichi, and I'd like to discuss something with you." Kitsune pushed herself up again, groaning as her leg moved, sending a jolt of pain up her leg.
"About why I'm here?" She asked, attempting to cross her arms, but failing because of the bulky ball of cotton surrounding her arm.
"Partially, your memory was erased after an incident that you witnessed," he lied, clasping his hands in front of him. "The remembrance of this event would have put your life in danger."
"Oh," she breathed. "What's the other part of why you're here?"
"While erasing your memory, we discovered a part of your memory that was sealed off," he began, pulling a chair up to her bedside. "We disabled that seal and discovered your birth parents." Her eyes widened... the thought of having parents was... overwhelming to say the least.
"You... did?" Inoichi nodded, placing his hands on the side of her bed in an attempt to comfort her.
"Your Mother died soon after you were born," Kitsune leaned back; she knew it was too good to be true... "But your father is still alive and well."
"O-oh," she stuttered. "Who is it?" Inoichi gave a small laugh, adding to the doubt that her father was actually alive...
"This amazed us; your father is one of the three legendary Sannin, Jiraiya." He gave a little huff, "we're unsure if you're his only living child, since he's kind of a..." He paused, trying to find the right words, "he's a womanizer."
"... oh," Kitsune sighed. "Well at least I know who my Dad is..." Inoichi nodded, giving her a friendly smile before standing up.
"I felt I should visit and let you know, I'll be leaving, please recover soon." He turned and walked out, leaving Kitsune with her thoughts. I... I have a Dad... she tried to figure out if that was a good thing, knowing he apparently liked to fool around with women.
She felt her face turning red, embarrassed for her Dad, but at the same time happy that he was still around. I want to meet him, she decided, smacking her palm with her fist.
