The Doctor had been sitting in his TARDIS, alone once more. He held a book in his hands and his eyes scanned over the words but nothing seemed to register.
He'd lost someone, again.
He'd failed to save the people he cared about, again.
Nothing else would register in his mind. He had closed himself off from the outside world with no intention of letting down the walls built up. The walls weren't to protect him, it was far too late for that. They were to protect everyone else.
He was poison. He crumbled the lives of people with a single touch. He was a monster.
His thoughs stuck on a loop, he hardly noticed the intruder in the hallway until he spoke.
"Hello Doctor," the voice said, an odd serene quality to their tone. The Doctor would recognize it just about anywhere. The Ood that had told him of his death before it happened. He will knock four times.
The Doctor glanced up from his book, awknowledging the presence of the Ood with a glance, though making no move to greet it. Ood Sigma had never been rude or cruel towards him, but the Doctor wanted to be left alone.
He deserved to be alone, forever.
"The Ood have discovered another prophesy to be fulfilled, Doctor. Your name was seen, interwoven in the events. We are uncertain of the meaning and result. It seems you are the one who determines it," Ood Sigma continued, undeterrred.
The Doctor glanced back down to his book, not bothering to respond. He was not going to be a part of any events. He would sit in his TARDIS, watching as time passed by, as disasters occured, wars struck. He wouldn't do a thing. It wasn't as if he made anything better.
The Ood turned back towards the doors of the TARDIS, taking the Doctor's silence as a sign for him to leave. "You will have to make a choice, Doctor. A most grave choice."

A young girl rushed outside of her flat, rushing about the doors on her floor, knocking at each and yelling at the tennants to all get out.
Just a few minutes ago, she'd been sitting on her couch while reading a book with a glass of wine beside her, relaxing after a difficult day at work.
She'd been perfectly peaceful, when she noticed a change in lighting around her. She glanced at her lamp to see if it had failed but it seemed to be working just fine. Only one other obvious option, she glanced outside - and shrieked in horror.
There were creatures in the air, rapidly descending, and approaching. The creatures were absolutely terrifying - they looked like glowing vultures with feathers like fire, with two heads that looked like the bodies of blowfish. And one of them saw her.
Survival instinct taking over, she threw herself over the side of her couch, wincing in pain as she hit the floor. Refusing to look back outside, she crawled behind her kitchen counter as fast as she could. Making sure to keep her head below the surface, she opened up a drawer, taking out her gun and sliding it into her waistband before she rushed out of her flat.
Now she was pounding on the doors of her neighbours, yelling at them to get out of their flats and into the hallways.
She felt a plan formulating in her head. She didn't know what the creatures were, but they certainly didn't look like they planned on negotiating, and they didn't look friendly. She wasn't sure if they could break through the doors, but she highly doubted they'd have all that much trouble with windows. The plan seemed solid enough. She only hoped it would be effective.
