[Merman] Nanase Haruka x Reader

Chapter 3: Blue eyes

In the center of the sea, a bright light is shining the dark blue sea. It was no doubt that the ship was covered in flames. Haruka and Makoto were shocked to see the horrible sight.

"We have to save them, Haru!" Makoto shouted and Haruka nodded. 

Without thinking, the two mermen began to swim towards the flaming ship. Treasures and goods that were supposed to trade were everywhere and were sinking.One by one, they were able to save some sailors who were still unconscious. Makoto was able to carry two at the same time.  Unfortunately, some were drowned to death due to the lack of air.  

"Is that all?" Makoto asked while carrying a sailor in his arms.

Feeling uneasy, Haruka decided to pass the unconscious sailor to Makoto. "I'm going to check over there!" Haruka shouted leaving Makoto. 

"Ah! Haru!" Makoto shouted but Haruka was out of sight. "Come back safely, Haru..." With another look, he quickly swims to the surface.

Haruka swims as he tried to search for anymore survivors. 

"Most of them are dead...," said Haruka as he looked left and right. "I think I should go back. Eh?"

Suddenly, he saw someone slowly sinking and quickly swims towards it. Immediately, he recognized who this person is. He quickly placed her head onto his broad chest and swims to the surface. Once he reached the surface, he looked left and right.

"Land! Land! I have to get her on land!" Haruka shouted desperately.

Then, he noticed the land is not far from where he is and swims towards it. Once he is on land, he gently placed her on the soft sand. He looked at her with worry and placed his left ear to check if she is breathing. 

"Thank goodness she is alive," said Haruka feeling ease. Then, he looked at her and placed his big hand on her cold cheek. "You...you're the girl who I saw back then..." 

-Misaki POV-

I can hear a voice... It sounded gentle... I wanted to move but my body wouldn't listen to me... Then, I felt something warm touching my cold cheek. Hey...please tell me... Who are you? 

Slowly, I open my eyes but the sight was too blurry... Then, I noticed someone was looking at me with worry. Unfortunately, I couldn't see properly but what attracted me were those blue eyes of yours. It resembles the deep blue sea that I like so much. I was about to speak when...

"Misaki!"

"Misaki!"

"Huh?" Haruka squeaked as he turn towards the voice.

"Misaki!"

Haruka saw someone was running quickly while shouting her name. The voice came closer and closer. Startled by the voice, Haruka quickly went back to the sea leaving her behind. This time Misaki began to lose consciousness. 

"Misaki!" The young man shouted and he noticed Misaki was lying on the sand. He quickly went to her and checked to see if she was still breathing. Without thinking, he carried her in his arms.

"Your highness!" A servant came who finally caught up to him.

"Get the medics! Hurry!" The young man shouted.

The servant obeyed his command and both of them went back to the castle.
