Disclaimer: I don't own Shingeki no Kyojin C: ♥ Wish I owned Eren though .-.
The moment he laid his turquoise eyes on you and met your [eye color] orbs, it had caught him off guard. Of course, Keith Shadis, the instructor for the 104th Trainees Squad, had noticed Eren's sudden change of focus and began throwing countless indignities and insults at him, as usual. You almost felt bad for the boy, even though this happened quite often, but with others. Especially that potato girl.
The sudden noise had not only attracted or caught the attention of all your fellow trainees, but yourself as well. He had noticed that you and the others were casually viewing the scolding, and had grown slightly embarrassed at the numerous pairs of eyes all on him and Shadis. He was lucky no one had noticed that it was because of you he became so vulnerable to an incoming kick. Otherwise, that would've increased the embarrassment he had already felt.
You had already heard about the famous Eren Jaeger from dinner one day. You were sitting two tables away from his, watching people crowd around him as he told them about the titan invasion at Zhiganshina. You noticed their eyes and how some showed flashes of interest, excitement, fright, and terror. Eren had an enthusiastic voice, as if he was attempting to brighten up those who were shaking in fear. But you could see through his eyes that there was pain. There were hidden traces of mental scars and a dreadful past. However, it was no business of yours to be intruding on other people's lives, which was what you wish you could tell those people crowding around the poor boy.
Although even now, you wish you could ask him what it was that drove him to want to join the army, but you were afraid that it would remind him of whatever it was that had scarred him so much. You wanted to soothe his pain, and you didn't know why. He had nothing to do with you, or so you thought.
After today's training during dinner, while you were engaging in a conversation with your friends, Eren had noticed you once again, and this time, you could feel his gaze from behind. On instinct, you had turned your torso and met those turquoise eyes. You were taken aback. You never expected him to be looking at you, as he usually would be talking with Mikasa Ackerman or Armin Arlert. You pulled a modest and sweet smile while waving a little with your right hand which had caused him to blush slightly and look away with furrowed brows. You frowned, tilting your head a bit to the right, when one of your friends had noticed your behavior.
"Hey, [Name]!" She waved a hand in front of your face until you noticed. "What is so interesting back the-" Her eyes drifted towards the direction that you had just faced and gasped. "Damn. Is it just me, or do you have the hots for Eren Jaeger?"
"What?!" You jumped. "O-Of course not! I barely even know him!" You stated. Stuttering really didn't help prove otherwise... "Besides," you folded your arms, facing away from her. "I'm not joining the army for love."
"Alright, alright." She raised her arms up in defense. "Whatever you say."
You turned towards her again. "What's with the sarcasm?" You pouted. All she responded with was a smile. "Honestly..." You sighed.
You finished the last of stale bread you were given for the day and stood up from the table, bidding a short and simple farewell to your friends. You were grateful for them, as they were the only ones you knew that were actually courageous enough to face the titans. You were bothered by those that only cared about their own lives, and not about others. In truth, those were the real cowards. They only hid from the titans, their only priority being to find a place that was safe for them. They ignored the fact that it was possible for humanity to gain the upper-hand.
As you exited the building, you heard a familiar voice. "Wait!" You recognized the voice belonging to the boy that had survived the Zhiganshina invasion. It belonged to Eren Jaeger.
Again, your eyes had met with those turquoise orbs. Honestly, you couldn't get over how alluring they were. "Eren, right?"
"Yeah..." He started. "And you're-?"
"[Full Name]." You pulled a smile. "It's nice to meet you, Eren." You casted your eyes aside, towards the sky and noticed how dark it's gotten. "Oh- I'm sorry!" You bowed in apology. "I promised my friend I would be back at the barracks right after dinner." You gave a short smile and began running off. "Let's talk again, alright?!" You shouted.
He hesitated for a moment, before responding. "O-Okay!"
His response had caused you to chuckle lightly to yourself. In reality, Eren Jaeger was a serious kid, wanting to exact revenge on all titans. You didn't exactly understand yourself why he was stuttering and such when it came to you, but you found it... cute, almost.
