I finally have a day off and I'm sick with a cold. I'm bundled up and watching TV home alone because the guys had to go back to the mononoke village. I told them Ikumi would be stopping by to check on me if need be. It was only after they all left that she called to tell me she had to take care of some personal stuff. Not that there was much going on so I told her not to worry and promised I wouldn't go anywhere. I was boiling water for tea when I heard someone one return.

"There you are," Kyoga said as he entered the kitchen with a shopping bag. "Where's Ikumi?"
I sniffle into a tissue as the kettle began to whistle. "She had an emergency and couldn't make it. I said it'd be okay since I wasn't going anywhere."

"Let me get that," Kyoga said as he placed the bag on the table and took the kettle for my tea. "You should have let us know so one of us could've come back sooner." He looked so concerned as he fixed my tea.
"You worry too much," I said as I looked in the bag he brought.

"The others still had business and friends to see so I came back to see how you were doing. Samon told me about this noodle shop that makes great soup so I picked some up for you. Go have a seat and I'll serve you soon."

I smiled and nodded as I went to the living room. There was a nature program on talking about the moon. "That's right, itms a full moon tonight..." Kyoga always was affected by the moon and since I'm sick, I'm sure he'll avoid me so I could rest. I started to feel bad when I heard him coming.

"Dinner is served, madame." Kyoga said as he placed the tray in front of me with a big smile.
The big bowl of soup was a welcoming sight. "Thank you, Kyoga," I said as I picked up the spoon and stirred the contents.

"You know I'll take care of you," he said as he served tea and took a seat next to me. He stared at the television as they talked about wolves and the phases of the moon's affects on them. I glanced at Kyoga as I had my soup to see if he was having any reactions to the programming or the full moon, but he just sat there like everything was normal. He sipped his tea in peace as he continued to watch tv.

Feeling relieved, I finish my soup and went to get up and bring my dishes to the kitchen, but Kyoga stopped me. He took them away from me and motioned for me to sit down. He then brought fresh tea and a blanket for me and we snuggled up to watch tv.

Eventually, I started falling asleep while leaning on his shoulders. Kyoga took me into his arms and took me to bed before the others came home. "Kyoga," I mumbled in my grogginess, "are you okay?"
"Hmm? What do you mean," he asked as he tucked me in, looking concerned as he checked my forehead.

"Well,... it's a full moon and... you know..." I avoided his gaze as my face felt hot with embarrassment after bringing up the subject. I sat in bed and pulled the covers up to give me something to do while hiding my face.

Kyoga petted me and kissed my forehead. "I can't do anything until you're better, so rest, okay? You shouldn't push yourself for me. Now lie down." I do as he tells me and he lays next to me, snuggling up and resting his head on my shoulder.

"You know, you're too big for that," I chuckled as I pet his head this time.

"Are you complaining?"

I shook my head and smiled as I felt the warmth of his body help drift me off to sleep.
