"Mr. Brown, you're on the right track. You're expected to depart the center next week." My therapist informed me.
"Thank you for all your help." I credited him, walking away.
I rubbed my head full of brown curls, contemplating what my therapist had just said. It has been three weeks since I have arrived at the rehabilitation center. Over the course of those short weeks, I and Bree founded a well built friendship. She was a very caring, considerate, and exquisite person. I learned a lot about her.
Now, it was around three o'clock in the afternoon so some patients were in their rooms, and some people were lounging around the facility. It was very calm. I decided to knock on Bree's door to see how she was holding up.
*Knock, Knock*
"Who is it?" I heard her soft voice project.
"It's me, daddy." I announced smirking, waiting for her to answer. There was a shuffling noise until the door opened. "You look good, girl." I licked my lips looking at her.
"You know you aren't supposed to come up to my room, Cnris." She giggled looking down.
"Let's make it a secret. Can I come in?" I asked with a wink followed by a smile. She nodded, opening the door more so I could come in. Once I was in, she looked outside of the door and closed it.
I plopped down on her bed. It smelt like newly bloomed red roses.
"You've been to your therapist?" She asked sitting next to me on the bed.
"Yeah, I did," I replied with a sigh. "He said I'm leavin' next week, though." I changed my gaze from the floor up to Bree. Her expression changed as she looked like she was ruminating about something.
"Well, it's good that you're getting out of this hell hole, right? Now, you can have a fresh start with everything."
"Yeah. My mom wants me to leave as soon as possible. She's lonely right now."
"Awe, you're a little momma's boy, huh?" She began snickering under her breath.
"Nah, my aunt, Christine, is sick right now. She was the one to keep my mother company while I was in here."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that, I really am." She looked down.
"She's gonna be alright, don't worry." I gently touched her shoulder. She moved her attention to me and gave me a toothless smile. She jumped up from her seat and turned on the television.
"What we watchin'?" I asked as I watched her grasp the remote in her hands. She pressed a few buttons and on came Roosewood.
"W-what the hell is this?" I asked in confusion as she plopped down on the bed with me.
"Rosewood. This show is so interesting, have you seen it before?"
"Uh-uh, and I don't wanna start watchin' it now. Give me the remote, Bree-" I reached out to take the remote from her but she moved it away from me.
"Wait, what are you doing?" She laughed sitting on the remote.
"You think that's really stopping me?" I asked a little amused. She ignored me and resumed watching the show. I chuckled under my breath looking at her. I swiftly picked her up and threw her over my shoulder. She screamed, surprised.
