Raphael tapped his fingers against the glass coffee table, waiting patiently for Exley and Patrick to finish their morning training session. He was satisfied with the two Children's progress; however, he was displeased with his failure to obtain the Sky Child. If that damned Castiel hadn't been foolish enough to hand Parker Lancaster her assigned weapon, then perhaps he would have been able to convince the girl to join him.
But he was intelligent enough to know when to flee. If the Winchesters and Castiel were still alive, then it would be a damn near miracle -- every angel ever created knew the devastation an uncontrolled Child could cause. Of course, the three idiots never seemed to die right anyway, so he wouldn't be too surprised to find out that they had survived being at ground zero.
"Raphie!" Patrick called out, a wide grin set on his face. "How was your mission?"
The archangel's eye twitched at the unwanted nickname, but chose to remain silent on it.
"It failed. Castiel interfered in the most dangerous of ways, and I was forced to flee." Raphael informed, a stoic expression placed upon his face.
Exley raised an eyebrow when Raphael admitted defeat; the archangel never spoke of his failures -- only his success. However, that didn't mean that the two Children didn't know about them; angels talk, and quite frankly, the gossip and rumours were often treated as truth and vice versa.
"Which brings me to the mission I want to discuss with you." the archangel said in a rather coy fashion, knowing that the two fools had been itching to get back into the real world, where the real fight was.
Patrick immediately perked up, his smile growing wider. "Woah! We're goin' back? Ex, we're goin' back to the real world!"
Exley ran a hand through their cropped brown hair while flashing Patrick a small smile of acknowledgement. Then, they focused their attention upon the archangel who looked as if he was ready to smite Patrick.
"You two are to retrieve Parker Rowen Lancaster." Raphael stated, handing the duo a picture of said girl. "Her last known residence was apartment three sixty-two at Concrete Park Apartments, New York City. She's believed to have been taken by the Winchesters and Castiel. As such, do not hesitate in killing them. Just bring the Sky Child back in one piece, and there will be great rewards for your service."
Exley glanced at the picture, and stared into the eyes of the girl they were to retrieve. A small feeling of regret bubbled in their chest; however, they stomped it down as quickly as it had come. Truth be told, Exley cared little for Raphael's little crusade -- their only wish was a suicide mission, really.
To kill Castiel.
═══════════════Parker was alone.
Time was still in the old wooden home she found herself in. Sunlight streamed in through the dusty windows, illuminating the small particles that drifted slowly in the air. The smell of rotting wood and old books was attached to each piece of furniture -- exactly how she remembered it.
She walked around cautiously, her socks catching onto stray pieces of wood as she dragged her feet. The house was still distinctly her's, but there was just something off about it.
Her eyes flickered to the bookshelf, where all of her books had been placed in perfect alphabetical order. She raised an eyebrow; everyone knew that she ordered her books by color. Curious, she walked up to the book shelf, and slid out Catcher in the Rye.
