"DARBY!" All four of my sisters yelled in unison

What's it gonna be this time? I wondered to myself.

"Darby, it's your turn to make breakfast!" Tessa yelled. Tessa, oh what a joy. Always organized and planned, just a little Ms. Perfect here. The only good part was that she put in time for family.

"Yeah! We're starving!" Violet added. Ah yes, Violet, couldn't forget about her! Always up and about, sporty and active, never to miss a competition of any sort. As kids she would always make up the most fun games to play.

"I did it yesterday!" Malley yelled. Right, Malley! The family clown! Always in a good mood, making cheesy jokes, and pulling pranks. She could be a good source of happiness on the down side of days.

"OMG, hashtag need food" Aubrey said aloud as she typed something into her phone. Oh look! Watch as the most popular girl in school types a caption to another post on Instagram, careful to use the right emojis! There is a 10% chance you might see her look up from her phone! Oh, the excitement!

"Can't I just be allowed to sleep in five minutes?" I said as I got out of bed and walked out of the room. Last but not least, me. Not much to say really. I had the exact same brown hair, hazel eyes, and height of the rest of my sisters, and usually being the one mixed up with somebody else. I swear all people will say to me is:
A) Hello Tessa!
B) 'Sup Violet?
C) Hi Malley!
D) Hey Aubrey!
Nobody knows me as Darby. Only the other Wilberton girls. I bet the only people who know I exist and love me for that is my dad and sisters.

Yes, my sisters love me, and I love them. We grew up as a tight bond. I guess only growing up with a dad influenced that, or maybe we're just weird.

"Morning Darby!" My dad called from the kitchen as I got downstairs. It was a small house. The whole apartment downstairs was the size of a 20ft square room. The kitchen and living room were merged together with the front door in the middle. The upstairs was split in half with two bedrooms, with a bathroom in each one. Of course I couldn't complain. This is what everyone's house looked like.

"Hey dad! You made breakfast?" I asked as I saw the seven plates of pancakes on the table. I know what your thinking: Seven? With five girls and one dad, that's six. But seven?

"Yup, I sure di—" he was interrupted as a massive leonberger dog came out of nowhere and leaped onto him, giving him a big, wet, slobbery kiss.

There's your answer.

"Oh Jeez!" He yelped "Murl, down boy!"

I laughed as I called Murl. Immediately as he heard my voice, he hurled himself towards me. Quickly I grabbed a plate of pancakes and put it on the floor in front of me. Suddenly Murl seemed interested in the pancakes, and gobbled them up.

"Your welcome!" I said

"Thanks Darbs. I made breakfast!"

"Yeah, I can see that"

"I've learned over the years to let you girls have your beauty sleep."

"Haha very funny, I suppose we should get the others?"

He obviously agreed, because he yelled: "GIRLS, GET YOUR LITTLE BUTTS DOWN HERE!!! DARBY MADE PANCAKES!!" Then he said in a whisper: "Wink, wink."

I winked back. We had this sort of understanding, like we always knew what each other were thinking. He was basically saying: Yeah, no dur your sisters will flip out if you got to skip your turn on breakfast. Wink, wink.

Suddenly, a trampling noise like a herd of horses came from the stairs and my four sisters piled into the kitchen. They sat at the table and devoured Dad's pancakes.

I watched my family eat their food. My dad stuffed each pancake down his throat time at a time. Murl was licking the leftover syrup on his plate. Malley was playing with her food as she ate. Tessa was slowly cutting her pancakes into perfect square pieces. Violet did the same, except really sloppy and really fast. And of course Aubrey was taking a selfie with her meal.

I didn't pay attention to how I ate mine, but I was the third to finish. Of course Murl and Violet were the first two winners. I met Violet at the sink, where we washed our plates.

"Hey sis!" She said

"Hey Violet." I said

"So any plans after school? You could come to my track meet if you'd like!"

"Well, I've been asked to go to your meet, Tessa's academic meet,
Malley's comedian club, be a third wheel at Aubrey's date, and asked to walk Murl by Dad. I think I'll pass."

"Oh... Well you can come next week!"

"Sure."

I finished scrubbing before Malley, because she likes to scrub extra long to get it cleaner than everyone else. I took this as an opportunity to run. Why run you ask? Because nobody was in the shower. Smart right? Yeah I know.

Halfway through my shower, I heard banging and yelling on the door. I ignored it. I had a feeling this would be a good day.
