The sapphire-eyed girl had turned to face the mischievous cerulean-eyed young man who had rested his chin on a hand while the other picked at his plateful of food in annoyance, earning an agitated glance from the girl who had untied her apron and placed her hands on her hips and glared at him in frustration.
"What is it this time, Kaito?" she puffed, raising an eyebrow as Kaito's eyes flickered up to eye the girl.
"Nothing..."
This did not convince the girl as she did not back down from her questions.
"Kaito!" she frowned, expecting a proper and more reasonable explanation. She was sure the young and playful -not to mention perverted- magician wasn't acting like his usual self, when he would commentate on her chest or cooking. She knew something was on his mind and wanted to ask more until she heard the front door open and her father's low call, "I'm home," echo through the hall.
"Welcome home, Tou-san," she called back, though her gaze fell back onto Kaito who seemed to be still lost in thought. She sighed in defeat as she decided to drop the topic by sitting down at the table and starting her own meal.
"Ah, Kaito-kun!" Ginzo had claimed, tossing his suit onto the couch and pulling out the chair beside his daughter and sitting himself down.
"Domo, Nakamori-keibu," Kaito replied politely, though not looking back at the tired and hungry man.
"Itadakimasu," the inspector had announced before gulping down the food his daughter had prepared.
While the father and daughter had finally managed to reunite in forever, since Kaito Kid had not made his appearance in days, the brown-haired magician had his mind was occupied with thoughts of the organization that had murdered Toichi Kuroba- Kaito's father, also known as the previous Kaito Kid. Recently, he had meetings with the organization's members during his thefts. He had even spotted a few hiding in front of Aoko- the young girl who had sat across from him, his childhood friend whom had no idea of his secret identity of being the Kaito Kid.
His instincts had suggestions of the organization knowing of Kaito's identity and relationship with Aoko which he had absolutely not wanted of. Of course, he couldn't and wouldn't casually tell Aoko to watch out for the black-clothed members that have been recently lurking around and then not giving a reason. He knew Aoko would be surprised, or even horrified of the young man revealing his other identity to her. He quickly shook the thoughts out of his head as he eventually picked up his spoon to gulp down his food.
The meal was in silence since Aoko had nothing to say to her father that was almost always absent from home. She didn't have any reports on her studies either; they were flawless. The girl had eventually goofily smiled to herself as she watched Kaito gulp down her cooking. She was glad that he was back to normal though he had kept the reason hidden from her, she didn't mind. As long as he was back to his usual self everything seemed good to her.
Unknowingly, a camera had captured everything right outside the Nakamori's house.

Kaito had dismissed himself from the table as he turned to head home, right beside the Nakamori's, only to be stopped by the girl who had hurriedly followed behind.
"Kaito!" she called out, finally getting Kaito's attention.
"What?"
"Feel free to come over for dinner anytime," she smiled.
Kaito broke into a grin, his eyes scanned the girl.
She wasn't especially stunning but cute and gorgeous in her own unique way, especially knowing that most of her smiles were caused by Kaito. He eventually chuckled, causing Aoko to give him a puzzled look.
