She silently sat at the table listening to the clock tick. She had even prepared candles and wanted to wait for her father or even Kaito to come home so she could light them. She could feel her throat burn as she tried to hold back unnecessary tears.

Aoko had never cried when her father hadn't come back home, at least not for a few years. She wasn't sure why she couldn't accept the fact that he was not coming home tonight and why she had stupidly declined the offer of going to karaoke with her best friends. She gave up on waiting and harshly tossed the apron onto the table and stormed upstairs, slamming the door behind her.

Aoko wasn't even sure why she was so mad about nothing. She was just being immature. Tears was now falling nonstop as she hastily wiped them away, but more kept falling until she was sobbing into her hands.

"Kaito, Tou-san, ...you're all bakas!"

The young magician had once again sent a challenge notice to the inspector and he had immediately made preparations for the thief. He frowned, for some reason he was restless and his mind wasn't set on this mission and instead, on something else.

"Botchama, I warn you to be careful tonight."

Kaito turned to face his assistant and chuckled.

"Jii-chan, when have you not told me to be careful?" The old man frowned. "Please do, Botchama, I have a feeling something's going to go wrong."

Kaito just waved it off. "Yes, yes."

Without another sound, he had disappeared off into a fog of smoke.

"Kaito Kid! Capture him!" Ginzo had shouted, pointing repeatedly towards the thief who had soared through the air, giving his fans a wave before disappearing off into the distance with the precious jewelry in his hand. He held it in front of the moon and frowned.

"Tch, it isn't this one either."

Before he could land, a gunshot was heard from below and he panicked as he watched his flying device fall to the ground along with him.

He glared down the surface that was gradually becoming near at an incredibly fast speed and could find a familiar smirk of a black-clothed man hold a gun at Kaito.

He had to think fast, he was about to die or even fall into the organization's trap. He shot a rope out of his gun which clung onto a building successfully just before he had fallen to his death.

Luckily, the rope had secured him safely as he was just an inch to the floor. His eyes widened with shock but he had to flash his poker face once again as the man clicked his tongue in annoyance.

"Kuroba Kaito..."

"This jewel isn't it either, you can have it if you want," Kaito replied playfully, presenting the man a smirk.

"Nakamori Aoko, do you know her?"

This caused Kaito to pause in bewilderment.
"So I suppose you do," he chuckled, twirling his gun around his finger.

"Nakamori Aoko, she's a good girl, eh?"

This caused Kaito to grit his teeth in anger and hatred at the man who had let the charming and pleasant name, 'Aoko' escape from his dirty mouth.

"I've had my eye on her for quite the time now, you should watch out if I were you," he snarled.

"I-I do not know of such a person." Kaito wanted to slap himself for having the words come from his mouth. He had made it even more obvious that he held Aoko dear. Which he did.

"Kaito Kid, I suggest you stop stealing jewels, I'm only saying this once more," he threatened before turning to leave.

Kaito could feel rage and resentment explode inside of him as he had imagined the thought of Aoko being abducted by them and what they would do to her. He clenched his fist in hostility and hate as he let himself eventually descend from the rope. He didn't have a choice.

He had to revenge his father who had been murdered by those monsters by smashing the Pandora into pieces after stealing it.

He had to.

He gritted his teeth as he shut his eyes, snapping his fingers together as an air glider had once again been fixated onto his back as he soared off into the night sky.

"I'm sorry, Aoko..."
