spent all this money trying to get out the friendzone

there,
shoots and fits
of spring's sifting breath
the way the trails
weave.

the day flowers hold
back the gold
summer.

we're just friends,
but sunk drunk fruit trees drop
their loads upon the gravel path
nature's sperm
blossoming.

i hear invisible frogs' lovelorn croaks
and see out my window
the moon-white dogwood.
