The flight home was just sad. I hadn't admitted to myself yet but I was giving up. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't just grasp the something I needed, (that something is Berry). Maybe this was for the best. Maybe we weren't supposed to be the kind of living beings that are the forever together. We were more like the horses from 'War Horse'. The Chestnut gets put in the war travels around and falls in love. But that horse get's sick and clasps getting run over by a tank. I the road kill in this situation and the tanks tires are killing me.
The one thing I can count on though is being welcomed back into loving arms. My dad apparently hadn't come out of his office since I left. He felt bad. But that's how he should have felt. He made me feel like life was over and that's how I made his like. But anyway after I had Lucas dropped Lucas off at his house, I made my way home.
My mind was spinning though. I was so confused. How could I just give up so easy. After all that work. I just stopped trying. I was lame. Really lame. And I had the feeling I was going to feel the wrath of my lameness in an hour or two. But right now I really wanted a nice home cooked meal instead of the fast food I'd been eating the past month or two.
I walk up to the door a it swings open just before I knock. "Your home" My mom exclaims embracing me in a nice motherly hug.
"Ya, I am." I look around and see dad sitting at the table.
"Hello." He looks at me. "I'm really sorry honey that I s.s.s.sold Berry." He smiled weakly. "But I did however buy you a new horse." I frown.
"That's very kind of you dad, but nothing can replace Berry" I have seat at the table and wait for my mom to take a seat as well. After she had a seat I begun eating and telling her all about my trip, but leaving out the part about me and Lucas kissing.
She seemed fascinated by all the places I had gone and the people we'd met, and laughed about the time where we had almost tricked the lady on buying Berry. It felt good to finally be back in my own home with my own parents and real food in my stomach. The only thing that could make it better would be Berry.
That night I went to bed late after watching the Lady and The Tramp the the Aristocats with my mom. She made the bestest popcorn ever.
My sleep wasn't very good considering the fact that I yet still couldn't here the sound of Berry's whinny yet only the sound of the new horse's. I should go and meet him or her. I couldn't fall asleep anyway.
So I got out of bed and put on my slippers creeping down the stairs trying to not wake my parents. It was cold outside, but I didn't care. I wanted to go meet the center of my attention. I got there and opened the door. I walked over to the stall and my heart skipped a beat.
"Berry?!" I whispered. He turned around and nudged the stall door. I opened it a wrapped my arms around his neck. Maybe it was fate. But for whatever the reason, life had brought us back together. And I loved it.
