My Camping Misadventure

Today was the day of our camping trip, and I was more than excited to get away for the weekend with my awesome boyfriend and friends. We are planning to go dry camping which is going to make it interesting to watch Rachel as she realizes she'll have no phone service out there. As I'm loading my camping gear into my car Rachel shows up and starts putting her stuff in also since she and I will be carpooling together. Around two in the afternoon we hit the road to meet up with everyone else at the campsite around four. Rachel and I were the last ones to show up, since it looked like the twins, Maddi and Max, and my boyfriend Jake with his buddy Ryan were allegedly there. We pulled in and I was greeted by a lot of smiles and a hug from Jake. I didn't really know Ryan and, to be honest I got a weird vibe from him, but that could just be my Imagination, I shouldn't be so quick to judge.

We finally gather all our stuff and start to make our hike into the woods to find a place to set for camp. Ryan was ahead of all of us since apparently he know these woods like the back of his hand. He didn't try to interact with us or help out much with us girls, which was a little rude, until he surprised me when he showed us that he had the humility to offer a hand with pitching up my tent. Jake was over putting up Rachel's and Max was still trying to put up his own without Maddi's help, when she clearly knows what she's doing when she already had her tent up. As it started getting dark I noticed that it was getting difficult to see, so I started to get the supplies to build a fire. I asked Maddi to see if she can go find firewood, and she came back five minutes later with a pile of wood in her arms. Once everyone had settled down we gathered around the fire talking and laughing about what's going on at school and teasing one another on what goofy stuff might happen to us when we camp, like for example, Rachel forgetting to put on bug spray and waking up to a crown of mosquito bites on her head. Suddenly we heard a rustling in the bushes and we were all instantly quiet. At first we didn't hear anything for another minute, but then we heard it again, it was a rustling in the bushes and this time Jake was on more alert. None of us breathed a word, or breathe at all, until Jake picked up a rock and threw it in the direction of the rustling. Suddenly a rabbit popped out of the bushes scaring Rachel and Max, while Ryan and I laughed at the little varmint.

The light to the fire started to dim down, and so Maddi volunteered to go get more fire wood. Max didn't like the idea of her going alone, so Ryan went with her into the woods to go gather more wood. They wear gone for a while until we heard two screams from somewhere in the dark and it definitely sounded like Maddi and Ryan. I clung to Jake in fear and Rachel and Max jumped into one another's arms. We heard footsteps rapidly coming towards, and we could feel the apprehension building in the air, as we turned around just in time to see a frightened Ryan covered in dark red blood emerge from the darkness limping on his right foot. I stifled my screams as Ryan limped towards us and Jake rushed to his aid. It kind of surprised me by the notoriety coming from Jake as he started to tend to Ryan's wounds and ask him questions about what happened.

Ryan wouldn't stop muttering about how he should have been stronger, and Jake seemed to give up, and started to gather weapons and light to go look for Maddi with Max. Ryan tried to stop them, but the boys ignored him and started in the direction Ryan came from. Ryan hurriedly stood up and limped in the direction of the boys. I asked him what he was trying to do, and he said he was going to lead them in the right direction. Rachel and I cuddled up together waiting for them to come back. Twenty minutes has gone by, and still no sign of the boys. A snap of a twig caught our attention and we watched Ryan come back with a haunted look on his face. We asked him where Max and Jake were, but he didn't know. He said he pointed in the direction he came from and Jake and Max never came back. He said he was too afraid to go look so he came back here as stealthily as he could so no one or anything could hear him and follow him. Demise seemed to fill the air as I started to get a cold vibe from Ryan. Rachel started to sob, and walk towards Ryan as he slowly limped over to us on his left foot.....before I could stop Rachel it was too late as she wrapped her arms around Ryan and sob into his shoulder. Next thing I knew, Rachel sucked in an unnatural breath and she dropped to the ground at Ryan's feet as he held a big silver bloody covered blade in his hand. I could feel the color drain from my face as Ryan straitened up as walked towards with no limp what so ever. My world went black as soon as I saw his hand reach towards me, inches from my face.

Beep...Beep....Beep... I woke up in a white room with a bright light shinning in my face. As soon as my eyes adjusted I noticed the doctor standing next to me writing stuff on his clipboard. I sat up feeling perfectly fine and he said I could leave after he's done running a couple more tests on me. When he was done he informed me my boyfriend was in the lobby waiting for me and I was more than happy to go see Jake. I had a hard time remembering how I ended up here anyway until I saw Ryan standing in the lobby with a big smile on his face. Ryan was the one persecuting my friends and I couldn't stop him, nor do I think I can now, but someday, someday I'll get him back.
