PERCY
When I woke up to the next morning, Annabeth was still lying next to me. I was on my back and she on her side, facing me. Our hands had disconnected during the night, but somehow Annabeth's hand had found my shirt sleeve and was gripping it tightly. Her face was scrunched up, the way it always did when she was thinking hard about a strategy or a plan. While my subconscious was saying it was creepy... I wouldn't help but stare. Her long, dark eyelashes against her tanned skin. Her blonde hair a mess of curls on my pillow and around her face. Her cheeks were rosy, her lips puckered slightly. She was so... beautiful.
I gently got up, trying not to wake Annabeth. (It was hard to detach her hand from my shirt, but I did it.) When I when downstairs, I looked out the window to see that it had snowed even more and was showing no sign of stopping. I wondered how long it would take for all this snow to clear.
ANNABETH
I was freaking out. When I opened my eyes, I wasn't in my bed, and I wasn't in my house. I slowly got out of bed and saw Riptide, Percy's pen-sword, sitting on the desk in the room. That's when it dawned on me; I was still at Percy's. My worry and panic was washed away, but I was confused on why I was still here. I walked through the apartment and saw someone with black hair standing in the kitchen.
"Percy?" I asked. He turned his head around and smiled.
"Good morning, Sleepy Head." He said, walking over to me.
"Why am I still here?" I asked.
"Well, last night when we were watching that movie you fell asleep, and then a blizzard hit, so I decided that it would be safer if you just stayed here for the night." I smiled.
"Oh, thanks. Is the blizzard over?" I asked. Percy's smile fell.
"No. In fact, it's gotten worse." He pointed to the window and my jaw dropped. It looked like someone painted the window white.
"How long do you think it'll take for the snow to stop?" I asked. Percy shrugged.
"I don't know. Could be hours, or days.
"Oh," I said quietly. "Um, Percy, by the way, where are your parents?"
"My mom and Paul were out when the blizzard hit. They're staying in a hotel until it's safe to come home." I let that sink in. Percy and I were home alone for a while. In a way, I was happy. In another way, I wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.
"Oh..." I said and brushed my hair behind my ear. We stood there in an awkward silence, until it happened. The room suddenly became pitch black. I couldn't even see my own hand in front of my face.
"Percy? Where are you?" I asked, walking forward.
"I'm near the couch." He replied.
"I don't know where the couch is!" I said.
"Um, just keep walking around until you find it?" He suggested. I kept walking until I hit something hard.
"Ow!" I yelled and put my hand to my head.
"Annabeth? What happened?" Percy asked. I fell to the floor.
"I...I just hit my head." I mumbled.
"Don't worry. I think I found a flashlight." He said. I saw a bright light shine in my eyes and I covered them.
"Are you okay?" Percy asked as he came over to help me up.
"Yeah, I'm fine. My head just hurts." He held out his hand and I stood up.
"It's okay, I'll try to find some candles so you don't hurt yourself again." I helped him find some candles and we lit them. Soon, the living room and kitchen had some light. We sat down on the couch. I kept shivering, even though I was covered in blankets.
