    After that, the Scouting Legion returned to their normal ways. Erwin went on leading people, though it took quite a bit of explanation from Levi for him to begin to calm down. It didn't take as long for Mike, though, because wondering was taking time away from his sniffing.

    Alaric and Edda from the Garrison Regiment were married two years later, and Hannes attended their wedding. The Jaeger family took in a girl named Mikasa Ackerman after her parents died when she was nine—at which time she grew very fond of Eren. The brown-haired boy never saw Levi any time he watched when the scouts returned, but eventually he forgot about the black-haired captain. However, he didn't seem to forget wanting to join the Scouting Legion.

    Word got around from the Garrison Regiment and beyond, and Captain Levi Ackerman became known as "Humanity's Strongest Soldier." In this position, he was granted permission to hire his own special operations squad. He chose them very carefully, eventually deciding on four individuals: Eld Jinn—his second in command, Gunther Schultz, Oluo Bozado, and Petra Ral.

    Section Commander Hanji Zoë did many more titan experiments on the battlefield, though she wasn't allowed to capture any by word of Erwin. She also conducted hundreds of ridiculous experiments on other scouts. She thoroughly enjoyed teasing Levi on the times she saw him, which he would never admit that he enjoyed.

    As for the two, they got along well. True, they would insult each other frequently, as to be expected, but the difference could be seen by them and those close to them. On occasion, whenever something was upsetting him, Levi would tell Hanji before anyone else. She was the only person he ever opened up to after Isabel's and Farlan's deaths. He figured it would stay that way.

    Though most wouldn't be able to tell, Levi and Hanji were very close. When the Scouting Legion left the walls, the two would almost always work together—helping each other out where help was needed. Because of this slight change, Erwin was pleased that his "sail" had worked out.

    Though things were bound to change in the very near future, Levi and Hanji kept full faith in each other. And so they would do until the very end.
