Johns POV
I had to take off my glasses to wipe them to even remotely believe what I was seeing in Jade's hand. The new planet. Our new planet. Damn, that's awesome. I can't even speak how I feel. The future looks bright for us though. Jade curled her open hand into a fist, causing the small projection thing that she does of our planet to disappear in a tiny, but bright flash of teal light powder.
"Ready guys?" I asked our group as I placed my hand over the doorknob, it's friction reaching up to spark my palm.
"Wait just a minute!" Terezi stops me, and runs to fetch Gamzee in his chained fridge. I rolled my eyes. Almost forgot about that.
"Oh yeah."
"Maybe we can let him out eventually." Terezi shrugs, then shows a sharp toothed grin.
"Or we could keep him in there forever." She snickers.
"Can we just get the fuck on with this?" Karkat crosses his arms.
"That's what I was thinking." I smile and finally connect my hand with the doorknob. It feels great. I can't believe how ready I am for this. I open the door and what meets our eyes is more than we could have ever hoped for. Slowly, we all filed through the door and out of the darkness into the light of the new world. I go through last, closing the door behind me. In a blinding flash of light, it evaporates, dropping the doorknob to the ground. Before I can pick it up, Kanaya grabs it from off of the grass.
"No, John, I'll be taking this." She wipes it off and places it gingerly into her leather satchel. "As with the previous world building activity, we had to keep the doorknob safe, else it get lost. If we don't keep it, we won't ever be able to access the past, and we will be stuck here. If we want to be able to keep hold on the chain of universe, we must keep this doorknob with me, and don't try to tell me it would be safer with you." Kanaya explains.
"I wasn't going to." I say truthfully. I dismiss myself from the conversation to stand next to Dave, Jade, and Rose. All the others along with the trolls and the adorable mayor and that mail lady and Casey (bless her soul) and several others stand somewhat behind us. I can feel the awe leaking from the group as they observe the horizon. I don't blame them. It's anything we could have ever wanted. I can see cities, fields, rivers, everything as I examine the road ahead of us. I take in a deep breath.
"This is going to be an amazing day..."
