Alexandra's P.O.V."Hey dad."
"hey sweetheart, are you already at the airport?."
"I'm actually about to get on the plane." I reply as I give the boarding pass to the lady. "You need to turn off your phone when you enter the plane" the lady says to me giving me a fake smile. "Yeah I know." I say returning the fake smile. "Well dad I need to go."
"Okay, call me when you land, I'll be waiting there for you. Have a good flight."
"Thanks." I hang up and put my phone in my bag.
I enter the plane and start looking for my seat, I felt relieved when I saw that my seat was the one next to the window. "Excuse me." I say to the old woman that will be seating next to me. I sit down I pull out my headphones and prepare for a long flight.
-
"Alexandra!"I hear someone screaming my name. I know that voice. I turn around and see my dad walking towards me.
"Hi dad." I tell him as I hug him.
"I missed you."
"I missed you too." We pull off.
"Well let's go." He grabs my suitcase and we leave the airport.
---
As we are in the car, I pull down the window and I take a deep breath. Minutes went by and I realized that I feel free. Something I haven't felt in a long time."You look different." my dad says interrupting my thoughts.
It feels good to hear that. "I feel different." I look at him.
"That's good." he gives me a smile.
We arrive at My dad's house and is pretty cool to be honest, it's not that big but it's not small either. You can say is a normal house.
"You can enter the house if you want, I'll take your suitcase." my dad says as we get off the car.
"Okay, thanks." I smile at him and start walking towards the house. I enter it and I instantly liked it. I begin to explore the house and I'm really liking the environment. It feels like this could be a new start, and I'm happy about that.
I turn around I see my dad staring at me with a smile on his face and my suitcase in his hand. "What?" I ask him smiling too.
"Nothing, did you like the house Alex?" My smile instantly fell. "What? What did I said?" My dad asks me worried noticing what I did.
"Nothing...it's just, it's just that I don't like that nickname, not anymore." it always reminds me of him.
"What? Why?, I have always called you that." he say confused.
"I know, but...just please don't call me that again." I know that I probably confused him more but I don't care. I don't want to hear that nickname ever again, well, a least for now.
"Okay." We stay in a awkward moment, just staring everywhere but us. I feel guilty now. "Do you want to see your room?" He says breaking the ice.
"Yeah".
We start walking upstairs and when I enter my new room I instantly like it. It's bigger than my room in Chicago.
