*Dyme*
Today is Clarissa's 5th birthday and me and August decided to have her a birthday party and invite August Neices and a bunch of other kids her age.
"1,2,3 happy birthday to yooouu" everybody sang as Clarissa watched and laughed.
"Make a wish baby" I say and she tightly close her eyes then blow out the candles.
-After the party-
I put Clarissa in the bath tub then tuck her in to sleep before turning on the night light.
"Mommy I'm a big girl now I don't need a night light" She say.
"Okay baby." I say smiling and leaving out the room to find August putting on his shoes.
"Where you going?
"I have to make a quick run. I'll be back." He say grabbing his wallet, phone and keys, kissing my nose then leaving.
*August*
When I pull into the drive way the lights are still on so I know I'm not that late.
"August come in son" Mr.John says making room for me.
"Hello Mr.John"
"What brings you by?"
"I'm an old fashioned man so coming to you and asking for your daughters hand in marriage only seemed right."
He run his chin and take a puff off of his cigar before turning back to me.
"Are you kidding me?" He ask.
"I'm sorry si-"
"Let me finish. Any man who's man enough to take Dyme & Clarissa in co-parent for Clarissa, get Dyme out of the club and put her head on right, protect her annd risk his freedom for her is more than worthy of marrying her." He say smiling.
"Thank you sir." I say smiling as Dymes mom squeal from behind us.
"I'm so happy for you too!" She say giving me a tight squeeze.
"Now let us teach you how to properly propose to a lady." Mr.john say leading me to the kitchen. I'm gonna be here a while.
*Dyme*
For some reason I just couldn't go to sleep. I kept tossing and turning and August wasn't back. What if he's out cheating on me again? I shake the thought. Maybe if I get some water and check on Clarissa I'll feel better.
I go down stairs and grab a glass out of the cabinet and fill it with water. I head back upstairs and go in Clarissa room.
"Oh... My God!" I scream dropping my class causing it to shatter and water to go everywhere. Chris was sitting in the rocking chair beside Clarissa's bed holding her.
"Dyme how long did you think I was gonna stay away? August was dumb for not killing me that day." He say standing up and gently laying Clarissa down on the bed. He kiss her head then walk over to me.
"Chris you need to leave." He grab me by my throat leading me out the room.
"August took the family I'm supposed to have and you just want me to leave? I don't think so." He say punching me dead in the lip which gave me the taste of blood. Not this again. I kick him in the nuts causing him to lose his grip and punch him in the nose causing him to stumble and run to Clarissa room slamming the door and locking it.
"Come on baby wake up." I say crying and shaking her.
"What's wrong mommy?" She ask sitting up yawning.
"We're in trouble. Somebody is gonna hurt us."
"I wasn't gonna hurt her." Chris says standing behind me. He grab my hair dragging me all the way out of room.
"Mommy!!" Clarissa screams running behind us but Chris push her back into the room and close the door locking her in and me out. He kick me in the chest causing me to let out a loud grunt.
"So.. Back to what I was saying." He say laughing.
"You're a bitch."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me. You only come after me because you know I can't beat you. But you're to weak to go after August." See that's what you don't know. August was supposed to be first. But since you were here why not beat your ass cause this is the life you'll be living for the rest of your life."
He say socking me in face blow after blow until I feel a release. When I'm stable enough to sit up I see August punching and punching and stomping the life out of Chris face.
He disappears into the room and come back out with a pistol.
"This is the end Chris. You don't win." He say shooting him twice in the face causing me and Clarissa to scream at the same time. He runs over to me hovering my face with his hands.
"Cl-Clarissa." I managed to say pointing to the door. He kick her door causing it to bust open and she run over to me and I cry while I hold her and August hold me.
