                                                          Chapter 1.

Soft, subtle music streamed serenely from the small, silver alarm clock; a welcoming tune beckoning the inauguration of a brand new beginning.

                                                            Monday

Jemma stretched her arms luxuriously; her sheets twisted around her legs, binding them together on the firm, white mattress. *POOF* something soft hit her face.

Jemma grasped at the cloud-like form and scowled up at Lily from behind her pale blue pillow. Lily laughed at her cheekily, retracted the pillow from Jemma's arms.

"It's time to get up or we're going to be incredibly late for school." Lily muffled, clasping hair elastics between her teeth as she pulled her long silky brown hair back into a ponytail.

Jemma rolled her eyes in enthusiasm as she sat up, untangling Lily's flannelette sheets from around her legs. Lily grabbed a fresh pink towel from on top of her dresser and tossed it on the bed.

"You might want to use Charlie and Jake's shower, mine seems to be broken again. Help yourself to some breakfast or whatever." Lily flitted about the room eagerly, organizing her books for school. Jemma groaned as she pulled back the pale blue sheets and perched herself on the edge of Lily's bed, rubbing her eyes then stretching her arms above her head.

There was a knock on the bedroom door, a male voice echoed from the other side.

"Hey Lily, I think Dad mixed up the washing again; I'm pretty sure these aren't mine or Cha.." The lemon yellow wooden door swung open and in the door way stood Lily's older brother, Jake. He was holding a washing basket in one hand and pink G-string in the other. ".rlies" he finished, staring at Jemma sitting on Lily's bed; eyeing her red bra and lace panties.

Jemma sleepily swept her wavy dark red hair out of her bright green eyes as she looked up at Jake, examining the look on his face. He continued to look down at her, smugly amused, a cheeky grin spreading across his face.

Lily stormed over and hastily snatched the pink G-string out of her brother's hand. She then quickly grabbed a gray t-shirt from the top of the washing basket and threw it on Jemma's lap.

"Thank-you!" called Lily, pushily ushering Jake back out of the doorway

"Can you go and see if Archer is up already to drive us?" Lily angrily slammed the door behind her and marched back into her bathroom.

Jemma pulled the gray t-shirt over her head, a well-worn "Black Sabbath" read across the front. She smiled down at it, thoughtfully. The t-shirt was baggy and hung loosely over her, just covering her butt like a short, floaty dress. Jemma strode out of the room and headed toward the kitchen to organize herself some breakfast. Part way down the narrow hallway she spotted Jake again "Good Morning" he called to her, winking playfully from behind another basket of washing. Jemma smiled back, giving him a quick wave as he passed.

Charlie, Lily's younger brother, was sitting at the kitchen table; eating a bowl of cornflakes. Jemma greeted him with a warm "Morning" as she passed by.

"Hey" he responded shyly, looking up from his cereal. He studied her back and blushed a little, recognizing his t-shirt.

"Are you looking forward to starting back at school this term?" Jemma called over her shoulder, sorting through the different cereal boxes.

"Yeah, kinda" Charlie replied quietly "...I can't believe the holidays were over so quickly."

Jemma stretched up on her tippy-toes, trying to reach the box of cornflakes Charlie had placed on a higher shelf. The back of her t-shirt lifted up as she reached; revealing her red lace underwear. Charlie felt his face turning crimson; he tilted his head away, but kept staring at Jemma from the corner of his eye. The red low-cut fabric caressed her skin teasingly as it draped playfully over her slender curves.

Jake sauntered back toward the kitchen, his voice booming down the hallway. Jake was much louder and more self-assured than his younger, timid brother. They both had similar looking faces; yet Jake had dark brown hair and dark brown eyes, much like his sister, Lily. Charlie, on the other hand, was much fairer, with wispy blonde hair and light blue eyes. Both boys were quite tall, but Jake was much broader and more filled out than this awkward, lanky brother.

Jake ruffled Charlie's hair as he approached him from behind. "Sexy knickers Jem" Jake laughed teasingly "...Nice of you to give Charlie an early morning show!"

Jemma grabbed the back of her t-shirt and pulled it down hastily. She spun around, abandoning her efforts to reach the cornflakes. "Sorry" she replied in surprise. Jake chuckled playful, reaching over Jemma for the corn flakes and then proceeded to fill two bowls. Jemma smiled apologetically at Charlie, but his head was hung low in embarrassment; too ashamed to notice. Jake filled the bowls with milk and handed one to Jemma.

"Lily seems in an incredible rush today, you might want to get ready soon" Jemma looked up at the kitchen clock and ate her cereal swiftly; she hurried off to shower and dressed quickly.

Jemma, Lily, Charlie and Jake climbed into the car at 8:45. Lily's eldest brother, Archer, ambled down the pebble-stone steps a few moments later and climbed into the front seat.

"Thanks for giving us a lift on your way to work" Charlie called from the backseat. Archer nodded; his long, dark unruly hair framed his tired-looking expression.

"Yes well, I wouldn't have to if *someone* didn't crash his car into the bloody carport!" Archer turned to raise an eyebrow at Jake in the passenger seat.

"I pick it up on Wednesday!" Jake answered quickly, with a very cheesy smile. Archer rolled his eyes at him, unimpressed. In a quick attempt to avoid conflict, Jake turned on the radio and the group travelled silently to school, listening to the rather obnoxious tunes of early morning radio.
