Bright sunlight blanketed her face and the girl moaned in discomfort. She didn't want to get up for school. It was far too early. Hoping to block out the offending light, the girl shifted herself until her back faced the strong light. She sighed in pure bliss, letting herself soak in the warm sunlight and snuggle deeper in the soft grass with the intent of falling back asleep.
Wait.
For a second, she lied there motionless. But when she got more of a feel of grass and the light scent of dew reached her nose, her eyes shot open with a sudden realization. She wasn't in her bed.
Blinking in order to clear her vision and looking down, she noticed with a start that her body was currently cushioned on a patch of grass. Green, fresh, soft, and all the more alarming to the girl.
W-what? The ground? Why am I lying in grass? Did I fall asleep in the backyard again? Crap, my Spanish homework! It's day time and I didn't finish! Okay, calm down MT. She took a deep cleansing breath. You won't get anywhere if you don't have a level head. Okay, so this isn't the first time awaking in an unfamiliar place. Maybe we're in Pyrrhia again.
MT glanced down at her hands, expecting to see claws. Her breath hitched when she saw something else instead.
Two rounded paws covered in a coat of creamy yellow fur met her eyes. Upon this sight, MT felt herself starting to panic again. W-what's-?
Raising herself up, she struggled to her feet. Once they were firmly on the ground, she only stumbled a little. This wasn't her first time standing on all fours. She faced her back when she felt something twitch down her lower spine. A poofy creamy yellow tail tipped in rusty orange greeted her.
Okay, fur and a fox tail. Why did this seem familiar?
She caught sight of something blue from the corner of her eye. Turning around, she noticed it was a puddle. That could work. She needed to know exactly what she was. Slowly, MT made her way over to the small puddle, taking little steady steps as she did so, for she wasn't quite use to the sudden change of weight. When she reached the puddle, she stopped and took a few minutes to prepare herself for the worst. Once she had the courage, the girl peered into the water below and witnessed a clear view of her reflection.
To say she was surprised was an understatement.
A cute little fox creature slipped into the view on the watery surface. Creamy yellow fur coated the majority of it's face along with the rest of it's body. It had a pearly white muzzle with long cheek fur and a pointed black nose could be seen. On it's head, two large pointed ears twitched as light wind ruffled the rusty orange colored tuffs of fur within. But what really grabbed her attention were her eyes. They were a unique mixture of blue and green with small flecks of hazel, her normal eye color. Surrounding them was a light blue colored eye mask. It wrapped around the rest of her head, ending at the back of her head with a tied knot and mask tails draped down.
MT blinked, and surprisingly, so did the fox. Slowly, she processed all of what was happening.
I'm... a Fennekin? But how...? This doesn't make any sense. Pokémon is a game! An anime! A franchise! This shouldn't be happening!
And yet, she stood there, staring at her reflection and twitching her nose every once in a while.
A groan interrupted her thoughts, and the girl-turned Pokémon whipped her head in the direction from which the noise had came. Her eyes widened and she realized she wasn't alone as she had first thought.
Seven figures lied scattered across the grassy field.
The first two were nearly identical to each other. Sky blue fur covered most of their bodies while black fur painted their legs, feet, and chests. Large white rounded bumps were present on the back of their wrists, and each had a pale yellow collar around their neck. But that was where the similarities ended. One of them had a blue eye mask wrapped around their face with two tear-dropped shaped appendages on either side, and the other had a peach colored mask with the appendages in the same color. Riolu.
