Here's some notes on the places and characters from Netis' world, and the definitions of some unknown words from this story.

Characters (in order of appearance)
Arriway Erkian - a maegiling, was servant/errand boy to the Prophetess Ectilea. He is now a respected member of the Idian royal court, eternal friend of Princess Netis. As Ectilea had sheared off half his tentacle-wings, he can no longer fly. He teaches the young maegiling in Idia how to use maegia.Dhase Luhana - another maegiling, was also a servant of Prophetess Ectilea, close friend of Arriway. He is now deceased, was murdered by Ectilea.
Netis Torlynn - Princess of Idia, daughter of King Ictance and Queen Oslea of Idia. She is half-maegiling; previously thought to be impossible, even more so due to both her parents being entirely human. It is unknown as to why she is part maegiling.
Aila - a bird of paradise belonging to the Idian Royal Family, tamed by Princess Netis
Thyea Aeris - Netis' nurse, took care of Netis throughout her life, played the role of her mother- Queen Oslea often too busy with the kingdom to look after her daughter
Queen Oslea Torlynn - Queen of Idia, Netis' mother
King Ictance Torlynn - King of Idia, Netis' father
Prophetess Ectilea - a powerful maegiling with the gift of prophecy. She acted as one of the ordinary maegiling in Idia, but she was always planning to start a civil war in Idia, so that she could destroy the Royal family and take over the kingdom. She was defeated by Princess Netis, in the throne room of the palace in Netia, after she murdered Dhase.
Ardnas Shanorin - one of the few sexless and agender maegiling on the Earth, met Arriway and Netis on their quest to return Nereus' staff, sent them to their village for help, Explorer and Messenger of their village
Lirpa Daesatra - another of the sexless maegiling, provides Arriway and Netis with help on their quest, leader of the village
Ix Carlee - another of the sexless maegiling, provides Arriway and Netis with help on their quest, maegia Sage of the village
Nereus - a god-king, ruler of the underwater kingdom Netia. His staff was lost before Netis' birth, by the fault of King Ictance and Queen Oslea- and so as a punishment to Idia, he brought on a great drought. To appease him, the King and Queen of Idia named their daughter Netis after his kingdom. Before her sixteenth birthday, Netis found Nereus' staff, and the day after her birthday, she set out with Arriway to return it. Upon handing over the staff to the god-king, Nereus was transported somewhere far away from his kingdom, as a result of the staff being cursed by the Prophetess Ectilea. Ardnas and a large search party are currently scouring Skeytan for Nereus.

Ectilea Cave - not particularly one cave, but the name given to an extensive system of caves that run deep, on the north borders of Idia- the main entrance is the one that Arriway and Netis useIdia - a large kingdom in Skeytan, ruled by King Ictance and Queen Oslea; has every type of terrain within its borders- mountains, coast, forests, plains, ice caps in the far north of the kingdom, a desert that joins the south border of Idia with a neighbouring kingdom
Netia - a kingdom under the sea, ruled by the god-king Nereus, borders with Idia's coastline
Skeytan - the country/world in this story- Idia is one of many kingdoms in Skeytan
