Author's P.O.V.

The rain was pouring really hard. Flashes of lightning and bolts of thunders can be heard outside. It was a very stormy morning, indeed.

Miriam sighed heavily and turned the volume of her T.V. louder to hear it clearly.

"Wow. What a nice way to start the day." She said, sarcastically.

The girl loved the rain, clearly and the anime she'd been watching for a span of hours. But still, she can't help to wish that the storm would stop, remembering the supposed to be 'friendly date' she and her best friend, Hinata Shoyo scheduled today.

Miriam admits that she'd been liking Shoyo-- no, she love him ever since they started being friends.

And she loves times like this whenever it's just the two of them going out together every once in a while. Mostly, for special days like today.

Though, she's sure that Hinata always thinks of it differently than she does. Or so, she thought.

The devastated girl was startled when she heard her doorbell rang.

'Who could be it?'

Curiously, she walked through the door to open it. But before she could, it swung open, revealing the person behind.

"Happy Birthday, Miriam!" An orange-haired boy cheerfully beamed at her with a huge grin on his face.

"S-shoyo? I thought our 'date' was cancelled?" Miriam replied quite shocked and happy?

"Eh? Why are you looking so down? It's your birthday! You should be happy and celebrate today!" Hinata exclaimed as he entered in, some of the water droplets left in his wet, messy hair dropping as he move. The girl noticed it, making her face spilled with pink hue.

She looked away.

"W-why should we? I-i mean it's raining and we can't go out. B-besides, I have no food to celebrate." Miriam complained, but in her mind, the mere presence of the boy was enough to make her gloominess fade away.

Enough to put a light on her day and a smile upon her face. He never failed to.

He'd been always her reason to smile and to hold on despite life's problems even if she feels like she's not actually OK.

"Why don't we go out, then? I never tried playing under the rain!" Hinata suggested cheerfully.

"W-what?! S-shoyo, we could get sick! And it's..." She thought about the lightning that could strike them anytime, but when she looked outside, the storm had calmed down a bit.

"Come on, Miriam! It's your birthday, let's enjoy!" Shoyo blurted out still convincing his best friend.

"B-but--" Without a word, the hyper active boy pulled Miriam gently by her wrist and went straight outside her house.
