I ran the trail back up to my house without looking back. With all these crazy vampires and border patrol checks, I couldn't believe I saw the boy that's been appearing in my dreams for months. It never bothered me that he appeared in my dreams often, so I never thought anything of it. I knew it was him because of his eyes, and that...smirk. Almost as if he knew I would panic.

Making my way into my room, I sat down onto the window seat that showed a lovely view of the woods. I live in a small town in Washington, along with many other family's and friends in our troops. I'm sure you're wondering why we do what we do, The world has yet to discover that vampires exist. But for the ones that do we all live up high within the woods and are either official vampire hunters or in training. I am current in my training but at the top of my group, this is why I teach my own squadron. My father is the head leader of our force and is very respected and keeps the place on its feet.

Anyways along with all that today is my 18th birthday. I'm not much of a fan of parties but my aunt Linda insisted I had to have one. I sighed knowing I'd have to deal with so many fake smiles and birthday wishes, but I guess that's how traditional birthday parties go. I chuckled to my self realizing how depressing I made one of the important days of my life seem. Focusing my attention to the overview I had of the woods I looked down below to see my neighbors house in view. Seeing two adults walk toward my house was enough to spark my attention, but what got me really interested was that boy wasn't with them.

Getting to my feet quickly I took my legs down the stairs as fast as I could, making it towards the bottom I ran into my dad.

"Whoa kiddo! What's the rush? " He questioned.

" Kiddo? Really dad I'm not 7 anymore." I joked.

" You will always be my little gir..." Ding Dong went the door bell, cutting off my dad mid sentence.

I looked through the peep hole before my dad could open the door, I noticed they were talking amongst each other and not looking at the door. But as I gently laid my hand along the door their eyes both met with mine and the lady smiled. I jumped back at the sudden movement and looked at my dad.

"They might be crazies, don't open the door." I whispered seriously.

"Arabelle what are you talking about open the door."

"No"

"Move " He ushered seriously pushing me aside and started to unlock the door.

"You maybe wise father, but you're blind." I stated while making my way upstairs.

I was not going to introduce my self to them today and I will deal with my fathers "punishment" later.

~ Couple hours later ~

" You're just stunning Arabelle." My aunt Linda whispered under her breath.

My blood red hair was curled loosely and cascaded down my back beautifully, making my blue eyes pop. I had on a long sleeve, black lace dress that hugged every curve perfectly and stopped mid thigh. Grabbing a special locket and placing it around my neck accented the perfect touch to the dress. Opening the locket I felt my eyes starting to tear up. Snapping out of it quickly I added my own touch of personality and slipped on my white high top converse.
