{ Not Edited }I strolled carelessly through the green woods finding myself at peace when I did, I had been walking for what seemed like forever but never once did I let my sight slip from the lights the lit up the house. My father had warned me about being unprotected at such hours, but it was only dusk and I would be back before night fall. I listened carefully to my surrounding becoming immersed in my footsteps crushing the dry and dead leave underneath me.
I made my way towards our library not to far within the woods. I opened the door hearing the sound of the common bell informing the owner someone has entered.
"Hello my dear." The older man greeted as a small smile formed on his face.
"Good evening Mr. Woodberry, I was wondering if you have any books on vampires?"
A small laugh left his lips as he made his way towards the back of the library, "Of course my child, you're the heir to the Vampire hunters throne, you should not ask such silly questions." He mused.
I smiled slightly more focused on getting my hands on the book, Mr. Woodberry dusted off the old book and placed it on the table beside him."There you are my child." He continued to walk before turning around," may I ask, why are you so curious now young one?"
"I just want more knowledge as to what we do and why we do." I answered.
He nodded in response and made his way back toward the front to leave me with the books and my thoughts. I flipped through many pages and many books only to find information I was already taught. I felt my eyes become heavy and I knew I needed to make the walk back toward the main building. Stretching in my seat I through my hair into a high ponytail and went to retrieve the books I had left out.
One of the books had slipped from my hold causing me to drop all of them in the process. I laughed to myself knowing how clumsy I could be at times. I noticed a book was hidden under the chair I found myself sitting on and went to grab it.
" Beloved - Rain Clouse "
I ran my fingers over the wooden engraved title and found myself stir with excitement, I had been searching for three hours and finally found something that could answer my questions. I heard Mr.Woodberry making his way towards my location and I slipped the small book into my jacket.
"It seems I'll be back another time, thank you." I rushed moving past him.
"Keep the book, no harm done." He stated making his way upstairs.
I nodded rushing out the door the sun had set, it was now dark and I cursed under my breath knowing my father would be upset. I climbed the tall tree that lead to my bedroom window, knowing I could avoid my fathers hand if I snuck in. When I made my way to the branch that lead to my bedroom window the book fell from my jacket making a little thud as it hit the ground.
I sighed heavily knowing I would have to make it all the way down and come back up. I murmured irritable words as I slowly made my way back toward the ground. Before I could touch the ground, a familiar figure stepped in front and took the book within his hands. He seemed to scan the engraved words just as I did before looking up at me.
"It seems you've dropped something princess?" He more questionably mocked then asked.
"Just throw it back up here so I can go to bed."
