You were slashed again, you backstepped and fell into the grass below.
"Hah! Nice try Newbie! But you're still rusty!" You mentor, Link, said as he helped you up.

"I'm trying Link!" You complain as he ruffles your hair. "It's fine Lin..." He said, using that silly nickname.

You pouted, looking down at your plain, brown tunic and sighed, you had been his apprentice since the day you turned 3 years old and you never graduated from the brown tunic as the brown tunic meant that you weren't skilled enough for a true battle.

"Hey... Lin... I heard that you turned 13 today..." Link smiled.

You smile back at him and nodded excitedly, your blonde hair glistening, you were very pretty, for a boy, you looked quite a bit like Link but had your difference... you were shorter than the 16 year old and you were much cuter and prettier as well, in the women's eyes at least.

You tilted your head when he pulled a brown bag with a ribbon on it out of his own bag and said. "Happy Birthday Lin." You timidly took the bag and looked inside, you found a small grey sword, some red potion, a heart container, a f/c tunic and a small shield as he grinned and you hugged him, He then handed you a hat that matched your tunic and put it on your head.

"Now you look more like a true hero." He smiled as he noogied you and you smiled.

He picked you up and sat you on his shoulders, walking into town as a celebration had begun, for the new hero to finally become the true hero.

You were so happy to be with your friends and family and then...
Princess Zelda came...
She was beautiful as you all bowed and she walked up to you and addressed you. "Young Hero..." She said as you bowed before her. "Stand..." You stood and looked at her, eyes glistening with excitement, your ice blue eyes bright with joy.

"You shall prove yourself to be a noble hero... by completing the task of defeating a powerful foe...
Armogohma has created another nest in Kakoriko village... I need you to destroy her and her nest... will you accept?"

You eagerly nod as she smiles and dubs you a her warrior and you receive one last gift.
You see a beautiful little mare being led out of the stables and you know just what to name her.
"I'll call you... Epona... but h/n is your nickname..."

The pony seems excited about this... and as the day ends, you and your mentor head off on your horses to fight the giant spider... little did you two know...
That Ganondorf lived again...
And he was very interested in finding out who the new hero of Time was.
