Life is to short
feelings can't be rebought
Why fuss over something
That was mainly nothing
Words we're spoken
Hearts were broken
The love we shared was a token
From the day we had spoken
But lies were hidden
Time not a consideration
With the admiration solely given
To the one and only
Leaving my soul lonely
Hoping we would be something
The time together wasn't for nothing
When you did wrong
It was like a melody of a song
The hyperbole explanations
We're just preposterous expectations
The feeling of being wanted
The thought of being loved
Feeling of being needed
Not to be left in the dust
Nor to feel like rust
Emotions ready to bust
Compassion is a must
Instead of lust
Life is too short
To love someone who isn't a must
