Little Red Riding Hood

Once upon a time
In a forest far away
A little girl walked down the path
Heading on her way

A basket full of goodies
Clutched tightly in her hand
Her red hood on her shoulders
Dragging in the sand

Suddenly there was a Snap
And Red came to a stop
She looked around
Then gave a frown
Before screaming out in shock

There stood right in front of her
A big and ugly beast
Large round eyes, furry ears
And sharp, pointy teeth

"Hello little girl
What are you doing here
Walking through the forest
With no one close to hear"

" I'm going to my grandma's house
Which is just along this path
Now I must be on my way
I cannot stop, nor leave this path"

"No wait, don't go
Pick some flowers instead
Your grandma would dearly love them
While she lay in her bed"

So off Red went to pick some flowers
As the Wolf ran far away
Getting to Reds grandma's house
Where alone she did lay

Red continued on her way
Flowers in her basket
A cottage came into sight
And Red walked to the door

Knock, knock, knock
Her hand still raised
As a voice came from within
Enter, enter my dear child
Won't you please come in

So in Red went
Up to the bed
Where her grandma lay
And said

"what big ears you have granny."
"all the better to hear you with my dear."
"what big eyes you have granny."
"all the better to see you with my dear."
"what big teeth you have granny."
"all the better to eat you with my dear."

Jumping out of the bed
The wolf gave Red a fright
Gobbling her up
In one very large bite

Bang, bang, bang
On the door
Before a man came inside
Carrying a big wood axe
An angry look in his eyes

"where is my daughter
what have you done
give her back now
Or you will be done."

The wolf groaned
And turned his head
Looking at Red's father
giving him no answer

The woodcutter walked up to the wolf
Bringing down his axe
And crawling out from the body
Came little Red and granny

And so this is where our story ends
With a happily ever after
The big bad scary wolf is dead
while the family cried with laughter
