7:00 pm
Stacy and I took a cab to the frat house and she was struggling with her make-up. I haf only applied some mascara and lipstick that I cleaned a million times trying to perfect.
"You know for someone who goes late to lectures, aren't you a little too early?" I picked her concealer from the floor. "I mean we could have come 30 mins later"
"I have to see Steve first, Nerd. We have to plan the room we would use for.. You know" she wiggled her shoulders and smiled. The driver smiled also but a little because I almost didn't catch him.
" Perv " I smiled back. Happy that she's happy at least.
We got to the house and I've got to admit, it was pretty huge and painted light blue. There were guys out the front and I suddenly felt conscious that I hadn't put much effort in looking as great as Stacy did.
"Those are not very attractive" Stacy said when I was choosing what to wear earlier that day. It was my peach dress that I adored.
"What? How?"
"You have to accentuate your curves you know. Let those guys know what you're all about"
"Unfortunately, that's not what I'm all about"
"Freak" she said and went through her closet.
"Is that the new nickname?"
"Yes, add that to your list cos I'll be coming up with more"
"Right, I didn't see that coming" I said sarcastically and flopped in my bed. "Maybe I shouldn't go. Just tell Luke I fell sick"
"No no no no no. Because luckily for you I have the perfect dress"
She held up a short black dress that had only strings to hold the back and a plunging neck line
"What in the world is that supposed to cover?"
She rolled her eyes.
"Exactly the point. But if you don't like that. You could just wear this black top and your jeans. You'll look simple and sexy too at the same time."
I wore exactly that but the guys here only had eyes for Stacy. The dress she wore really brought out everything there was to bring.
Steve rushed to her and tried to hug her.
"Looking splendid baby"
"Babyyyy" She pushed him away gently and gestured to her face "Make-up"
"Oh right. I don't want your face splattered over my T-shirt. Its Yeezy" He gestured to his white T-shirt that had no design at all whatsoever.
She slapped him on the shoulder and I laughed.
"Rosie, you look nice too. Really. I don't know why girls put in so much effort. Looking simple and sexy at the same time is...well.....sexy" He hugged me and Stacy almost immediately pushed him away.
"She doesn't have anybody to put in effort for. You think I did all this for myself. Don't I look nice to you? Why did u got through all this pain if you won't appreciate it?" She glared at him angrily and walked into the house.
"Babe. It was just a compliment" he called after her then he turned to me. "Have fun okay?. I have to make things right if I want to get some tonight"
I smiled and he left me there. I walked inside. More boys.
Luke and I spotted each other at the same time. He smiled and I smiled back. Such a nice smile on such a gorgeous boy. Don't mess this up. My subconscious warned me.
"Hey there" He had walked up to me and tried not to loose focus from his Cologne.
"Hi" it sounded more like a question to me. Oh God. I'm messing this up already.
"Glad you came. I was actually starting to think that you bailed on me"
"Well when you have Stacy, you can't go wrong" I don't even understand what I said.
"So you never told me what you study" We were walking towards the kitchen once the house started to fill up.
"Biochemistry. You?"
"Economics. Second year".
"Ooh" I said looking down at my feet as he arranged drinks on the counter. He had long, slender fingers. They looked nice. I wondered the texture. Jesus! Stacy stop thinking and actually hold a conversation.
"So you're like the bartender I guess" I said pointing at the bottles he was arranging.
"Yeah you can say that. I actually handle the drinks. Make sure some don't get finished and the frat has some to spare"
"Ooh, cool"
"I also make sure that people don't get too drunk when they come in here. Once I notice that someone is wasted, I don't give then anymore drinks"
"You could give them water" Very weak Rosie, very weak.
He smiled my way and I blushed again
"That's probably not a bad idea. You wanna join me in the bartending business?"
"What's in it for me?"
He gestured to himself "Me"
And that's all I need.
