· There is a hacker hierarchy visibly present as seen through the actions of a hacker.It is as following:-
1.Newbie-Noob:These are people with no hacking knowledge and wannabe hackers.
2.Script Kiddie-Skid:They are inexperienced hackers that use ready made tools for hacking,they do not write their exploits nor do they know about the core functioning of how computers work and programming.
3.Intermediate Hacker:Intermediate hackers know much more then script kiddies.They know programming and the functioning of computers but do not use their own explots or scripts for attacks.
4.Elite Hacker-L33T-1337:An elite hacker also known as a L33T or 1337 are professional and skilled hackers with loads of experience.They maybe in the form of black hats,white hats or grey hats.They develop their own explots,scripts and tool and know well how to cover their tracks.They are at the top of the hacker hiearchy and are security experts.
· Categories of Hackers:-

2.Hacktivsts:They hack for a cause which maybe in the form of motivation such as human rights,political reasons,freedom of speech,etc.An example is that of "Anonymous" a major hacktivist group that hacks for freedom of speech.They have recently hacked 20,000 ISIS accounts.
3.Elite Hacker-L33T-1337:Written Above.
4.Ethical Hackers:Also known as penetration testers,they are hired by companies or organizations to test their security by penetrating int their system and finding vulnerabilities to improve security by fixing the weaknesses later on.This profession is a major position in the IT security industry.
