Just as Broken (Delirious)

I woke up in a dark place. I don't know how I got here. I heard a deliriously creepy laugh echo around what ever this place was. "Test subject 1 has escaped. Do not approach alone. Highly dangerous." What is this place? Then I saw a dark shadow enter my room. I could hear a histerecal laugh come from the shadow. The same one from before. The shadow approached me and picked me up. "Who are you?" I asked. The shadow stopped. "... I-Im... Delirious..." He then started to walk again. "Do you know me?" I looked up at his face. But I couldn't see it. There was a mask over it. The mask seemed familiar. "... Yes. I do know you.... You know me too... But.... You can't remember. They took it away. They took you away and did terrible tests. I begged them not to. But they did anyway." Then a guard came running. Delirious grabbed him by the throat and snapped the guys neck with one hand. I gulped. "Don't be scared. I would never ever hurt you." He moved his hand over my face and.... Pulled a mask off. I didn't realize I was wearing one. He took his mask off and puts it on me. And puts the mask I had on his face. "There. Much better." I saw the mask he was now wearing. It was a hockey mask. He... Looked... Sooo familiar. "What is this place?" "It's for crazy people. Like me.... Like us." He said. He opened a door and a bright light casted on us. We were outside. "Teddy Bear. I need you to be quiet now. Delirious needs to think of a plan. I never got this far." "Teddy Bear?" He looked at me. "Yeah. Your my Teddy Bear. We're gonna escape. And no Teddy Bear left behind." He then held up a small bear and handed it to me.

"Where are we going?" I asked as we walked down an empty road. "Home. We are goin' home. To see our family. Evan, Tyler, Craig, Marcel, Brock, Brian. All of them." He tripped and I went flying out of his arms. He started to have a coughing fit. Jonathan! .... Jonathan? "Jonathan...." He looked up at me. "... You.... Remember my name." He then coughed more. I saw blood drip from his mouth. "Are you OK?" "I-Im... Fine Teddy. Don't wordy about me." He got up and helped me up. "I can carry you if you want." He said. I looked at him and stopped. I pulled the mask off his face. He looked like he was in so much pain. And I don't know if he is hiding the extent of the pain. Then in an instant I pressed my lips against his. His arms wrapped around me. And mine went around his neck. He kissed me back. Greedily. Like this would be his last kiss on Earth. He then let go. "J-jodi." He then collapsed to the ground unconscious. I saw a car and I flagged it down. A man got out. He was wearing a business suit. And yellow flip-flops. He looked at me the at Jonathan. Then back at me. He went to his car and pulled his phone out and called someone. H-he's gonna take ups back. No I WONT GO BACK! I picked up Delirious as if he was a pillow and ran away from the road into the forest. I could hear the business man yell for us to stop. I didn't stop running till I couldn't run anymore.

I stopped miles and miles away from the road. I found a cave hidden by vines. I made the place clean and made a bed and laid Jonathan on the bed of pine needles and leaves. I found some water and brought it back to the cave. "Jodi?" "Hi there." I said walking in with the water. He removed the blue sweater he was wearing. His grey shirt was stained in blood. Some fresh and some old. I handed him the water. He looked at it and said. "Boil it first. Just in case." Then he said "Where are we?" "Well... A man drove up and I was scared.... I thought he was gonna make us go back. I don't want to go back there." All of a sudden I couldn't breath I felt Jonathan's arms wrap around me. His hand was rubbing my back. "Breath Jodi breath. Your fine. We aren't going back. We are never going back. Ever. Ok? I got you. I'll protect you." I hugged him pressing my face into his chest. I could feel tear run down my face. I then passed out.

I woke up in an actual bed. I pretended to still be asleep. "Yeah. She ran away when I called. She looked terrified. And I'm not scary." Said a man. "Mini. She has amnesia. She didn't even recognize me when I found her... They broke her... It's like the love of my life was taken and placed in a blender and set to puree. Then poured back into a Jodi shaped mold. What.... What if she doesn't love me anymore. What if she hate me?" Then a voice spoke up. "Craig Jonathan shut up. Your gonna wake her up." "Sorry Evan." I felt someone touch my shoulder "sorry sis... I was supposed to protect you. Now look at you. Covered in scars. Afraid of your own shadow. God damn. When I get my hands on who ever did this. They're gonna wish they were never born." Then the hand let go and the person. Even left the room with the other guy. Mini. "Jodi. Please be OK. Please still be the same amazing person who loved me. I don't want to lose you." Then he sat up straight. I felt him shake. "Jodi... Please. you are the only one who has kept me from snapping. I don't want to go back to the way I was. I am broken beyond repair. You've been the only one to fix me." I opened my eyes. "What if I have become.. Just as broken?" "Then I'll fix you I'll keep you safe. No matter what. I promise."
