"Hi, I'm Skyla Hudgens. I'm new here and no, I am not related to Vanessa Hudgens." I say as I giggle. The class stays quiet. As of now, I can only hear someone chewing gum. "Where are you from Skyla?" asks the teacher as she gives me a forced smile. "I'm from British Columbia. It's pretty cold over
there." I hear a few laughs and that forces a smile out of me. "Anything else you'd like to add?" Mrs. Kornell asks. "No, that's it." I say as I put my head down and walk to the back of the class to my seat. I put my textbook and binder inside my desk and look towards the board, where Mrs. Kornell is introducing herself. I am listening intently, until a hot, gorgeous boy with glossy brown hair turns around to look at me. I gulp. "Hey, newbie. I'm Carter." He says as he smiles, a perfect smile to be exact. "Hi." I manage to get out. He turns around and I get a whiff of his cologne, and it knocks me right out. (In my mind, of course.)Class has finished, and as of now, I've only met one person, the amazing, gorgeous, Carter. I'm walking down the hall to my locker, until someone shoves me, shoulder to shoulder, into the corner near the cafeteria. "Ow!" I yell. "Yo. Calm down. I'm Nathalie, you can call me Nat. You sounded pretty stupid talking in front of the class today." She says with a laugh. "Excuse me?" I ask. "Dude, I'm kidding. You seem cool so, I'll be your friend, show you around if you want." She replies. "Oh. Haha. Sure." I look at her outfit. Short jean shorts, black converse sneakers, and a shirt with an alien in the top right corner. "So, meet anyone else yet?" She asks as she grabs my arm and pulls me softly into the ongoing crowd of students. "Uh, yeah. One guy in my math class." I respond. Maybe I shouldn't give details just yet, I barely know the girl. "Ooh.. Who?" "Carter." Her mouth drops open and her eyes widen. "Carter Hills?" "I think.. Why? Is there something wrong with him?" I ask in a confused voice. "Listen, there is nothing wrong with him. He's basically perfect. But he must think you're pretty special because he never really talks to anyone near the bottom of the popularity list. Not that you're not popular or anything but, he only talks to his jock friends, and his "perfect" girlfriend Ariana." I sigh. "Oh, he has a girlfriend?" I ask sadly. "Girl, slow down. To me, he's not that great." Nathalie says. We walk to the cafeteria and I look at all the different groups of people. "There's my table over there." Nathalie says. We start walking to the table and she gives me a smile. "Here we are!" She starts, "The best of the best." I look around and all the people at the table smile. There's not many here anyways. "Guys, this is Skyla. She's new here and she seems pretty cool." "Hi." I say nervously as I wave my hand in their direction. "Yo. I'm Tyler." says a boy with short black hair. "Liam." says a tiny boy with bleach blond hair. A tall girl then gets up and gives me a big hug. She's really pretty. "I'm taking you must be Ariana?" I ask. She laughs. "Aw, sweetie no. I wish. I'm Isabella. Call me Issy. Hmm.." She says, "You could be gorgeous, you know. Just a little makeover and I can make you look fabulous." I smile. Issy sits down and I turn to look at Nathalie. "Welcome to the group Skyla. Enjoy." she says as she sits down.
