Hey, you will notice that when the characters are texting each other, the grammar or punctuation is not good. I did this on purpose to make it seem real. So, its supposed to be realistic. Don't mind the grammar or punctuation, it is supposed to be that way. Thanks, Enjoy! -XOXO, Elizabeth

I run into the shower, and turn on the cold water. It cools me down. I wash myself off from football practice and step out of the shower when I'm done. I get out of the shower and immediately dry my short, messy, black hair. I run to my room and get dressed. I'm going casual since it's with Skyla. I sigh. I really do not want to go with her, the girl seems so stuck up and, really, just plain annoying. It's gonna be awkward during the time that she isn't talking about herself. We're going to see a drive-in movie downtown. You have to buy a small space for your car and the space that your car does not occupy, you get for your own things. Drinks, snacks, chairs, and stuff like that. We're going to see a romantic movie, Nathalie chose this one. Before she bailed. I put on a flannel with a plain white t-shirt. I throw on some really comfortable jeans and brush out my hair. I grab my phone and text Nathalie.

Tyler-Hey, hows the gala going

I grab my phone and run down the stairs, packing a backpack with snacks, drinks, and a blanket. I throw a hoodie in there just in case it gets cold, actually, I know it's going to be cold. It's Canada. I turn the corner to go to the bathroom and run into my dad. "Hey, bud." He says. He just got back from work, obviously. "Hey, dad." I smile as I get out of his way and go to the bathroom, not closing the door. He talks to me from the kitchen. "Where are you off to?" He asks. "Drive in movie." I respond as I flush the toilet and quickly wash my hands with warm water. "Ah. With who?" He asks. "Well, I was supposed to go with Nathalie. But she had to go to this gala dinner thing with her family, so now I'm going with her best friend Skyla. Nat said it would cheer her up or something." He looks puzzled as I walk into the kitchen, opening the fridge door. "Wait, it would cheer who up? Because I know it's definitely not you." "She said it would cheer Skyla up because she's sad or something." I grab an apple and take a big bite, hearing the satisfying crunch I always love. "That's rough. Have fun, Ty." He says as he runs upstairs to get changed. I look at the time: 5:55. The movie starts at 7:00, and it's half an hour away. I want to get there early so I can set up too. I text Skyla.

Tyler- Hey, I'll pick you up at 6:15.

After I text her, I notice that Nathalie hasn't texted me back yet. She always texts back.

Tyler-Nat, hello? Where are you?

In a matter of minutes, my phone buzzes.

Nathalie- Hi tyler, it is Nathalies mom here, Jane. Nathalie is getting a cast on because she broke her arm. After that we are going to the dinner. Her phones about to die, so she will message you later.

Tyler-She broke her arm?!

Nathalie-Yes she did. She won't be able to see you tonight, so I will see you later and she will talk to you tomorrow. Goodnight

I put my phone on the table, and sigh. How could she have broken her arm? I'm just really stunned right now. But, her mom said not to talk to her tonight, so I need to just forget about her, and go to the movie. I will talk to Nat tomorrow. My phone then buzzes to stop my daydreaming.

Skala-Hey Tyler! Yeah 6:15 sounds good. See you then. :)

It's now 6:10, so I throw my backpack in the car and run in to say bye to my dad. I grab my keys and I hop in the car as I pull out of the driveway. I chuckle to myself. "You know what would help, Tyler?" I say to myself. "Her address." I text her asking her address and sends it to me, and now I am on my way, for real. Her house is not that far, to be honest. It's a few right turns, a couple left, and in 3 minutes, I'm there. I park the car on her large driveway and step out, staring in awe at her mansion. Or smaller mansion. I walk up the door, ringing the elegant doorbell. In a few seconds, a woman and man open the door. "Hi, I'm Tyler." I say. "So you're Nathalie's boyfriend, and you're going to a movie with my daughter? Son, that doesn't sound right." Says a tall man with a bushy face. I smile and ignore that comment. "You must be Skylas dad, and yes that is what I intend to do." I put out my hand, offering to shake his, but he shrugs and walks away. Her mother, or I'm assuming that's her mother, puts out her hand to replace his, and she gives me a firm hand shake. "I think it's great that your girlfriend trusts you to bring Skyla to this movie." She smiles softly. "Skyla!" She says loudly, but not loud enough to call it yelling. Skyla comes jogging down the stairs, with a giant duffel bag and a big blanket under her other arm. "Hey, Tyler." She giggles. "I think I brought too much stuff, is it too much?" She says with an awkward smile. "No, it's fine." I say. "Okay, bye mom." She says as she gives her mom a peck on the cheek. "Bye, have fun guys!" Her mom says as she waves then closes the door. Skyla tosses her stuff in the trunk of my truck, and gets in the passenger seat. I pull out of her driveway, and start to drive, in silence. "So, what movie are we going to see? Nat didn't give me much information." She says as she smiles at me. "Uh, some romance movie. I don't know what it's called though. Oh wait, just grab the tickets in the glove compartment. She pulls them out and reads out the name. "Forbidden Love?" She says, sort of asking. "I did not choose it!" I say as I laugh. She smiles and laughs a little too. I break the silence by saying, "Nathalie broke her arm about an hour ago." She gasps. "What?! What happened? I did not know about this!" "Yeah, her mom didn't tell me much either. She's going to the gala dinner after she gets the cast on, though." "Oh, my gosh." She sighs heavily. We drive the rest of the way just talking, and Skyla isn't how I thought she was going to be. She's actually really nice. We finally arrive at the Drive-In and unbuckle our seatbelts. I grab all of our bags (Combined, they are very heavy) and put them in front of my truck. The movie starts in 10 minutes so we are right on time. Well, to me we are right on time. I set up my chair and so does she. "Tyler, thanks for taking me." She says as we both sit down and start to munch on some snacks. I turn to her. "Yeah." I stutter. "No problem." She smiles. "Listen, I know you don't like me, okay? So I appreciate you tolerating me for the night." I start to turn red. "I like you! What are you talking about?" She looks at me and smiles. "Don't lie, come on Tyler. You think I'm stuck up and only care about myself. I can tell. Just tell the truth, please." I sigh. "Fine, I wasn't really into you when I first met you. You seemed selfish, and I don't really know how to explain it. But, Skyla. I was wrong. Very wrong. You're cool and really nice, so I'm sorry for automatically assuming. That is entirely my fault." "It's alright. I have something to say. I had a hard time with Carter, because," She stops. "Should I be telling you this?" "You can trust me, Skyla. I promise." "Fine. So Ariana tricked him and practically cheated on him, and when I saw that I wanted to make her jealous. So I, uh, I kissed Carter. And I liked it. A lot. I like Carter. And he does not like me, at all. And I just really don't know what to do." She says. "You should confront him. That's what Nat did with me. I would've never known she liked me back if she hadn't told me. You should tell him, you never know. He might like you back." That puts a smile on her face. "Thanks, Tyler." The movie starts and we watch intently as everything ends in a happily ever after, except for a few people dying. At the end, Skyla is crying, and I'm disgusted. "Worst movie I have ever seen." She interrupts me. "Best movie, and saddest move I have ever seen." We laugh. We get in the car and I start to drive Skyla home. She's fallen asleep in the passenger seat, and when I pull into her driveway, she won't wake up. I lift her up and carry her to the doorway. I knock on the door quietly and the housekeeper and butler answer the door. "Oh, hello. Thank you." Says a short woman with black hair. The butler smiles. I give them her bags and leave the house. I come back home and throw my backpack on the ground beside my bed, and I stare at the ceiling for the longest time. I was wrong about Skyla. Very wrong. I hope she acts like this all the time because I just had the best night of my life, besides the movie. As friends, of course. She's my friend. Hopefully, a close friend. I smile as my thoughts take me to sleep.
