Chapter 2: Here is where we begin

Its been a week since Darren became Lartens assistant, and Darren kept refusing to drink human blood. "Master Shan, you must drink blood to survive." Larten said as calm as he could. "Why should I? I will become a monster if I do." Darren yelled, his face red with furry. Larten sighed and finnaly said, "Darren, if you dont drink, you will slowly rot and soon die." Darren just stared with cold harsh eyes. "ITS BETTER TO DIE THAN BE A MONSTER LIKE YOU!" Darren yelled while he stormed off.

Larten just let Darren go. He thought he might need some time alone, expesialy because of what he went through. While Larten was thinking, he thought about him and Seba. Seba treated Larten as if he was his own child. He thought about all the time he spent training with Seba, and when Seba finnaly blooded Larten. He then growned, he finnaly thought about Darren. He blooded him at the wrong age, and without any training. Larten stood up and went to find Darren.

Darren was up in a tree when Larten found him. "What do you want Crepsley." He said harsh. Larten looked at him with sorry eyes. Darren saw his eyes, and lighten up his expression. "Im sorry, Darren, I shouldnt have blooded you. Expesaily at your age with no training." Darren looked into Lartens eyes, and quickly looked away. "Its ok, Crepsley, it was wrong of me to take your spider." Larten just stared at him. "Please call me Larten, Master Shan." Larten finnaly said calmly and with a smile.

Darren just stared at Larten then up at the sky. "Its almost morrning, we should find a place for you to rest. May I suggest a hotel?" Darren said smiling. Larten just stood there thinking it over. "Fine, Darren we will go with your idea." Larten said as the morrning sun started to rise.

Once they were checked into a hotel room, Darren sat down on the couch. "Larten, you could use a bath. Your thithly." Darren said while standing. "If you need to, I'll show you how to turn it on." Larten gave Darren the evil eye. "I can do it myself, Darren." Larten claimed while walking into the bathroom. 15 minutes later, Darren heard Larten call for him.

"It is your turn Master Shan. But beware, that water is hot." Larten said, while he exited the bathroom. Darren walked in and turned the water on. Larten turned the news on. There he heard about Darrens death. He quickly turned the tv off as soon as he heard the door open. "Darren, lets get some rest." Larten said calmly, while he started to rise. Darren agreed and let Larten chose the first bed. He then layed in the other bed and closed his eyes. Once Larten was sure Darren was asleep, he walked over to Darren. "You deserve better than this." Larten said as he kissed Darrens forhead.
