"Police have confirmed the injuries of 12 people, yesterday after a group of people were chanting and shouting down Lombard street as car smashed into 12 of them, the rest were left unharmed." The news lady said on TV.
"This world." I laughed.
Mom came in, she swayed her brown hair and took a seat by the fireplace.
"Sooo uhhhh, any cute guys at school?" My mom smirked.
"Are you kidding me?" I snarkled.
I know realize 'snarkled' isn't a word.
"Well, it's that time of your life isn't it."
"Last year of high school. I'm beyond that part of my life."
"Don't be such a sour puss."
"A sour puss?"
Dawn walked in and chuckled, "Yeah a sour puss." She sat down and put on leg over the other on the chair beside me.
"Hey Dawn, me and mom were talking about guys."
"The ugly ones on TV?"
My eyebrows dropped in comfusion. "What ugly ones?"
".... I don't know.... But there are a lot of ugly ones, just telling you."
"Well ok." I wandered outside to the front. Disappointed in what just happened. "Mom can I take the car to school?" I yelled.
"Ya sure." My car was at the mechanic's. Not proud of what I did, not at all. Crashed it into another car like in the Mantrix, except the police aren't shooting at you.
The day was as silent as the night before. The fog was spread thick across all of Philadelphia, it was warmer then before, but moist and humid all around. The skyline of the downtown area was barely visible from my house, only a few lights here and there from the highway.
I could see my own breath billowing sideways out of my mouth, slowly disappearing into the blank fog. I walked towards the car, trotting on each step down to the driveway. "Damnit!" I hissed. The car was locked, I guess I had to go back to get the keys.
"Hey Taylor!" A familiar voice yelled out at me from the fog. "Need a lift?" A yellow Mini Cooper pulled out from the fog, and who was in the driver's seat? My good old friend Riley Nugent. She goes to the same school as me. St.Donliteé Catholic High school, ya I'm catholic, moving on.
"Ya sure!" Hopping in the back seat, behind Riley and some other chick. I don't know who she was , a lot of makeup though. Red lipstick now is kinda an odd occasion.
I sat beside Paula, tossed my bag in the middle as she did and drove off to Western Philadelphia to school.
The streets were empty with no people at all. Only a quiet day here with only a few cars driving around, then disappear. Planes and helicopters would pass by us and hide behind the buildings in Downtown. The sounds then ceased to exist. Echoes of laughs and people got louder when getting closer and closer to school, soon the building was visible.
When arriving a school, the fog hid behind the school, letting a few figures be visible across the school yard. It was 8:28 almost time till school started. Which was in like in 2 minutes, better go talk to friends I guess. Me, Riley and Paula walked up to the front of the school.
Nancy was there, still silent from the other day at Target. I started laughing at what Dawn said then. "BUUUUUUURRRRRNNNNN!!!" As I recalled it sounding like. "Oh Dawn how we all love you so much." I said smiling looking at the ground. I couldn't seem to get that image out of my head, Dawn on my side for once.. What's up with her.
