I drag myself out of first period that morning. My locker had been vandalized for the third time this month. My hand reached up to wipe at the crude drawings that were scattered across the cold metal.
“It was Benjamin, and his crew,” a familiar voice sounded behind me.
I turned to find a smile creeping across Matt’s face, and I replied with a similar, yet lazier smirk.
“It’s not funny,” I mumbled, extending my arm to nudge him out of the way, “I haven’t ever talked to Benjamin, why would he do this to me.”
He pursed his lips and shrugged his shoulders, running a hand through the brown hair that poked out of his beanie.
“Benjamin is a complete idiot, don’t worry about him. Here, let me help.”
I slug my backpack over my shoulder, stood back, and sighed at the sight of my locker which was covered in marker smudges. I was taken by surprise as a strong hand pushed me back against the metal.
He had me pinned, and I could feel his breath hot against my shoulder. “Meet me by the back lot after school,” he whispered. I couldn’t see his face, but I knew his lips were pulled into a sly grin.
“O-okay,” I replied, choking on my own words, “M-Matt, I-”
He stared into my eyes; his lips, his face, everything about him was overwhelming. I was speechless, and I slumped lower against the locker.
“Don’t bring anyone else,” he spoke. I couldn’t help but watch as he walked away, the muscles in his back strained against his tight shirt.
“Holy fuck,” I whispered to myself.
